Thanks! I'm glad I'm back! I missed you all! I wanted to cry when I couldn't get my computer to work

Yeah, I think they're all crazy! I think it will be better for me if I work till x-mas than leave after that. The new semester starts in Jan. here, so I can get into school pretty quickly, if not I can wait till may, it will give me time to catch up with Kelli anyway :rotfl2:

hi girls... can you tell me how this letter sounds

Mrs. MacFarlane,

I received your note about Darren not completing his homework. I am sorry he did not finish his whole assignment. I understand that you have taken away his recess for the rest of the week, is this due to his homework or some other issue that I am not aware of? We have spoke to Darren about the importance of completing his homework on time and bringing home the proper books to do so.

I also understand that he had a problem at aftercare with another student in his class. We have taken away his television privileges until Sunday, due to this incident and the homework issues from this week. I am little concerned about something Darren told me that happened at aftercare, he told me an 8th grade boy was pushing his head down to the table and taking away his belongings and hiding them. When he spoke to you and Mr. Cholette about it he was questioned about why the teachers did not see if happen. It makes me very upset to have his words questioned by two teachers, whom I feel he should be able to go to when problems arise. After speaking to Darren I understand that he spoke to the teachers about this 8th grader after he got in trouble for hitting his friend, but I still think that he shouldn’t have been brushed aside because he was in trouble. The incident with the other boy happened right before Darren got in trouble himself. Darren does not want this brought to Mrs. Coderre attention because he does not want to have a meeting between the other child and himself. He is afraid of retaliation from this older child

We feel that the no hitting policy is a great policy for a school to have. We understand why it is in place and we also understand why Darren needs to go see Mrs. Coderre about what happened on Thursday, what we don’t understand is why this policy is not the same for every child. When an 8th grader puts his hand on my child’s head there should be concequences for that child also.

I do not feel we need a meeting at this time due to the fact that he will be leaving St Josephs as soon we can get him into his new school.

First off, I would be as upset as you and it would take a lot for me to not try and slap the teachers and the 8th grader...but just to play the other side, if you don't want to meet with them and he is leaving soon, why bother with the letter? Is it so that he is safe in school for the time being? Do you think they should change their rules or enforce their policy better? Did you just want to bring this to their attention, maybe apologize to DS or listen to the kids better? Sorry, I understand you are angry, and I would be too, but with this line I don't understand your intent :confused3
