I was looking at going to see my parents fora weekend in August on SpiritAir. If I wait a few days, could it go back down? Is there a rhyme or a reason for it fluctuating and are there certain days/times that it would be best to check it?
TIA

Not much, really. The usual rule of thumb is, if you see a good price, jump on it, because it might be gone in a few seconds.

I was thinking similiar thoughts about our Jan 2004 trip. I checked over the weekend on a whim & saw that our RT N/S tixs would be $130 each (with all taxes), I booked them right away. Now the price is up to $94 for the return leg--we saved over $100 by buying them a couple of days ago.

I hope for your sake they head down again--just keep checking. I know for sure the rates were $94 or at least $79 on Friday, then on Sat nite they were down to $59 each way, now they are back up again.

BTW--this is with AirTran, but same thoughts!

I would have grabbed it last night, but I had to make sure my dh could get the days off, and I couldn't find that out until this morning.:(

Denise, if that rate was available over the phone, you can reserve that rate for 24 hours and then call back to confirm and pay for it. Most airlines that I have flown work that way. I'm not sure if you can do that online.

HI Denise, I did the same thing last week. I thought I would give you my senario and then you can decide. I tried to get the $69 rate for our trip over the phone but I couldn't get it. The The agent told me that as the plane fills the cost of seats go up. I think that the $94 flight is going to be the best you will see for the next week. I watched the prices go up everyday until Thursday because I heard that Wednesday is the day you can get the lowest fares. The rules have changed in the last month I'd say. Spirit is a great priced ariline and the flights aare usually on time but I would have to pay over $300 for a flight from ACY to MCO and I wasn't willing to do it. We are driving to BWI and going on Southwest. Good luck to you. Get your ticket as soon as posssible if you are going on Spirit. They will credit you the difference for another flight if the price comes down.

To BWVDenise in NJ from another Denise in NJ whose DVC home is BWV, .............talk about a small world!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, I fly Spirit Airlines from Atlantic City to Orlando ALL the time and on the weekends they offer cyberspecials, they are good from either Thurs or Fri night until Sun at midnight. The cost of the fares vary but lately they have been running $64.00 each way from AC to Orlando on the weekend cyberspecials. I would wait until this weekend and check the fares again, I bet they will be back down to $64.00. This time, as soon as you see the fare, BOOK IT!!!!!! That is a very good fare!!! Good luck and have a wonderful, magical, Disney trip!!!

Wow, we have a lot of Denises on this thread!! Thanks for all the info. I found on another thread that the cyber specials run from midnight on Friday to midnight on Sunday. I'll check then. If I don't get it, I don't go, no biggie. I wasn't going to WDW, just an unplanned visit to my parent's house since the fare was so low and since my brother is going.
