I noticed in the advertisement for the spa they had something called an alphacapsule! do you know anything about it?

My DH did this on our cruise in November. He thought it was OK. You lay down in on a bed like thing and a lid closes you in ...your head is on the outside. It has some aromatherapy and it is supposed to be like 2 hours of rest for only 25 minutes.

I think there may be a description of it on the castawayclub.com site

My DH did this because he doesn't like the massage thing, he said it was just OK. I asked him if he woudl do it again...he said "no, once was enough"

It's not called the Alphacapsule anymore. I did it on the Wonder last October. It was okay - nice nap but I got clostrophobic and had to leave before the 30 minutes was up. I won't be doing it again. On the bright side, I discovered the rainforest room and the heated tile loungers. I will most definitely be doing those again!!

I did this on an RCCL cruise, and personally I would pass on this and try something different another time. Other folks have said that they really liked it though.

I've always opted for this when we cruise because I thoroughly enjoy the peace and relaxation. Warm, aromatic and soft music with a vibration that can be just so comforting!
AHHHH!
Long wait til Saturday!

a couple of years back i signed up for the alphacapsule and a massage before hand. my package included using the capsule thing twice on different days. the first day the spa worker kept trying to sell me overpriced products that i couln't live without and i assurred her i could, so anyway the first time in the capsule(looks like a mini space ship to me) it was nice and relaxing. i actually enjoyed it, the second time was the treatment from hell, i even felt like i was there. i think by not giving in to the "must have" sales pitch the attendant cranked that baby up to well done. i like to feel the heat but this was unbearable and whats worse, on the first time around around she came in a few times to check on me but the second time as i was wasting away to nothing and becoming char-brioled she never even gave me a peep. i finally had to hoist the lid up, not an easy thing to do in a weakened state, and stumble out only to find her doing her nails and saying "why i didn't think you were done yet" i said honey i'm well done and i left and dully noted that on the comment card at the end of the cruise.

I understand completely. The Vista Spa staff are not DCL staff and have an "attitude". I use some of the products and when I tried to buy one, the desk attendant kept insisting that I have to see someone before I did. Either sell it to me or I'll talk to Guest Services.....can you believe that?!!!

Too often the Rainforest (Magic) has been either completely or partially closed due to maintenance problems - I hate to buy a week long pass there because of that. I had hoped in October when we cruised that all the problems would be fixed during the previous month's dry dock - but nope, things were still breaking down. Maybe if your "nail polishing" attendant did something other than her nails, things wouldn't be so sloppy.
