Okay now I know this has been asked before, but no time to rummage threw posts. So I would love some advice. Which restaurant do you think I should choose either Narcossee, CG, Grand Floridian Cafe, nobody except maybe 1 person out of the 5 that will be going steers off the basic menu. So that being said what do you suggest. Would like to take in Wishes if possible we are going in mid Nov. Thanks.

California grill. Good food and a great spot for the fireworks. Narcoossee's would be my second choice.

Another vote for California Grill. View is great and although I couldn't go outside to watch them (height phobia) I could watch from inside. The food is to die for as well.

Went to CG last night. We booked for 9.00pm and having taken our time choosing what to have our waitress suggested that we have our main course after the fireworks. In hindsight, an 8.30 booking would have been better. She advised us to go out at 9.45 for the fireworks and to take our drinks, which we did. TBH, Wishes wasn't all that great from the viewing area simply because you lost all perspective.

We had a fabulous meal and were lucky to have wonderfully attentive and enthusiastic staff - although there was once or twice that you had to give them a touch of understanding as it was obvious that this was a very busy time.

We had the pork flatbread and some sushi to share - the wine waiter suggested we ask for some sushi that wasn't on the menu and because we were undecided our waitress asked if we would like a selection of sushi to sample (which we did, including the recommended shrimp tempura). We were sat next to the open kitchen area and the head chef brought the plates to our table and explained what each thing was (is this usual?). The flatbread with pork, crispy shallots, garlic, red onion and cheese was amazing. The sushi - which I haven't had before - exploded in my mouth. Delicious!

With a fantastic bottle of Sancerre (NOT off the reserve wine list!!!), things were progressing nicely.

We chose the filet and the lamb - both of which were excellent. A little pricey, but reassuringly expensive you might say. For dessert my wife had something with banana and, I think, toffee or caramel. I tried the cheese board which came with a menu explaining what each cheese was. Chutneys an other bits came with the crackers. Well into the swing of things by now, I ordered a glass of port, and explained that I was no expert so any would be fine. They brought me some to choose from - a little nip of each and I made my selection. I wouldn't have dared to do it with the brandy though in case I chose the reeaaally expensive one. I knew the port was $12 max!

All in all, we had a great meal, and with the service we received it was great value for money - even if it was a lot of money it was well worth the experience. One thing I would say though is that you shoudl go for the food rather than to see the fireworks. It was ok but you coule be disappointed with them.
