Last Minutes..budget busters!

Does anyone else feel the sting of last minute items to get before trips? I have gotten almost everything only to find out we need more bandaids, undies, foundation, and a couple other toiletries for our trip..ahh I was so thinking I had avoided that by getting some things almost a month ago I guess it is better to realize it now than the day of packing though!

Does anyone else feel the sting of last minute items to get before trips? Not usually for trips, because I plan them far in advance and I bargain hunt for the necessities.

However, we just moved the boys into their college apartments last weekend and had to purchase a lot of the little things once we arrived in town because we just didn't have room in the car for incidentals. Everything from toilet paper to breakfast bars had to be bought on move-in day with no opportunity to seek out sales. It killed me to pay full price for things that I know I had stockpiled at home! But you do what you have to do.

I find that the more in advance I plan a trip, the worse I am at this. I keep buying and packing things away "just in case, for the trip" and by the time we're ready to go I have a bunch of things that I'll probably not need.

And yet always, always, no matter how well I've socked things away, I still have to make a special trip to Target the week before, where I blow another $100 on necessities I somehow forgot.

ummm, noI don't consider underwear and bandaids a budget buster...they're all cheap and easily found anywhere.
