I just found out last night that I am going to a training class on 2/9 so I've decided to fly to LA on Friday morning and do DL over the weekend. I found on the disneyland web site that I could buy a four day pass at a great discount but you need to order it at least 8 days in advance, since I don't have that much time does anyone know of another place to purchase tickets at a discount. Also, I have the choice of staying near my training site in Irvine (which they say is about 8 miles from the park) or I can stay at one of the Hilton properties closer. How is the trafic to get back and forth to Irvine? Any other advise would be appreciated especially - what not to miss.

I tried to search the forums but it seems the search isn't working.

Thanks

Try contacting your local disney store. Ours sells the discounted tickets. If they don't, just across the street from Disneyland on Harbor, near the Howard Johnsons is the Anaheim Visitors center and they sell discounted ticktes also. It's not the same discount as the Disney Store or web site, but it is cheaper than full price. You might want to call them if your Disney Store does not have any.

We once stayed at a hotel in the City of Orange and it was about 5 miles away, but had great free way access and the drive was very quick. Just take into account that if you have to drive to the park you will have to pay for parking. If you stay at a closer hotel will it have a shuttle? Maybe driving to your business stuff will be cheaper if you have a shuttle to the park. Other than that, I don't really think it would matter about driving to the park. Would you be spending the entire day in the park or going back to the hotel for a few hrs each day?

I'm not exactly sure of the boundries of the city of Irvine but I think you'll be staying further than 8 miles.

I think it would be easier dealing with the weekend traffic driving to Anaheim than weekday traffic driving to Irvine. Especially if the Interstate 5 fwy is involved.

Hi there! I'd stay in Irvine if I were you and just deal with any traffic you might encounter. It sounds like either way you're going to need a car, right? Well, last time we stayed at the Hilton in Anaheim they charged $9 A DAY for parking! And my husband works for Hilton!
As the crow flies, Irvine is about 8 miles or so from Disneyland. However, on a weekend, it will probably take you a good half-hour to get to the park, plus parking and tram time.
Hope this helps and hope you enjoy your trip!
