Ok here is kind of a complicated question. My use year us August and I have already banked the rest of this years points to next year and used those combined with next years points to book a trip in Dec. which uses all my points. Yesterday we decided to book a cruise for July 9. We were thinking of spending a few days in Disney and if there is anything available staying at a DVC resort. Now here is my question....

Assuming that there is something available for a week and a half from now can I cancel one of my studios for Dec. that is booked with points I'll get Aug. 2006, borrow those into 2005 and use them to book this trip, and then borrow from 2007 to rebook the studio. I'll only do it if it can be done quickly and there is more than 1 studio available for Dec when I call. (I don't want to cancel and then not have anything!)

Thanks for any help! I'll call MS tomorrow but I was hoping for a heads up!

Thanks!

Rather than cancel the studio for December and try to rebook it using borrowed points, you should ask MS if you can keep the reservation but substitute the borrowed '07 points for the '06 points you originally used. The reason being, December is a very busy time and it's unlikely there is still a studio available.

As to whether or not MS will allow you to do this, I don't know. I know you cannot substitute points from a different resort, but I would hope that you could substitute points from the same resort, but from a different Use Year.

Just clarify everything with MS before they make any changes so that you don't end up losing your current reservation for December and end up on the waiting list.

Good luck!
