I just found out I’ll be on a business trip in CA next Wednesday-Friday (23-26th). I was able to extend the trip until Tuesday so I can go on a mini solo vacation!

I’m thinking about going to Disneyland Saturday + Sunday and then hitting a beach on Monday and Tuesday. Any suggestions on the safest hotel to stay at within a 10 minute walk to the parks? I’m a young female so safe area is key!

Is there a particular beach I should visit that’s near by? I fly out of LAX Tuesday afternoon.

We enjoyed our stay at Candy Cane. Easy walk and also have a shuttle if you want to use it. Rooms are clean and comes with a decent little breakfast.

Sounds awesome! I am also a young(ish) female and travel solo out to CA once a month for work and have stayed at the Fairfield inn every time I add on a day or two. I've never felt unsafe once. Very quick walk, Panera in the parking lot for breakfast on my walk to the park, and its a clean hotel.

I love Huntington beach for its relaxed surfer vibe, Newport for some really good food and boats.

The Best Western Plus on Harbor is right across the street so you are hardly out of the park and it is very well traveled so very safe.

You might want to use Google/Expedia/other search engines to see what's available for your dates. We are going next weekend and my BF's parents were thinking about joining us. VERY slim pickings left. For example, I would recommend the Anaheim Desert Inn to you but it was sold out last I looked.

I’ve stayed at Fairfield Inn by myself with 2 young kids and I always felt very safe too.

Thanks everyone! I think I’m going to go with Fairfield Inn and check out Huntington Beach! I’m so excited! The last time I went to Disneyland, I was 11!
Lots of posters here give the FFI good reviews. Make sure to download the free Disneyland App now and start playing with it to get used to it. It recently had a rather major update, so make sure you get the latest version. You can get your tickets ahead of time on the DLR website or on the app, have them loaded on the app and ready to go -- then skip the ticket booths and go straight to the gates! Easy!
Cruise this board to see what the latest news is in the parks and ask away if you have any questions. :)

Sadly, you’re correct and most hotels are booked! Fairfield Inn has a few rooms available but it’s more than I would like to spend. I can get a better deal at Sheraton Park Anaheim. Has anyone ever stayed here?

It’s a nice enough hotel the only thing to watch for is you have to cross the freeway entrance if you walk to the parks. Not a deal breaker by any means but noteworthy if you are by yourself. Some of the rooms are noisy with freeway traffic as well.

Edit: Sorry I was thinking of the Four Points by Sheraton. Note to self don't reply when you are sleepy! But the four points can sometimes have good rates too so check it out.

The Sheraton Park is one of our go-to DLR hotels. We stay there often and haven't had a bad stay yet. Bathrooms are a little small, but if you are solo, that won't be a problem. You can walk to the TS lot to take the free shuttles, but we like the walk to and from the parks. The walk goes right past the 24/7 CVS, 7-11, and A Mart (a privately owned convenience store) -- easy to pick up snacks and drinks for the parks or for the hotel room. There is a Starbucks on Katella, just east of Harbor (by the Walgreens) and a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Katella (just west of the CVS). The walk to the parks is about 15 minutes at a comfortable pace, depending on the 2 signals.

I loved the hotel itself but we only stayed once during spring and the room was not cold enough for us by any means. When we inquired about it they said the ambient temperature was the average of the other rooms , so at night those rooms had their heat on so we were hot. We like our room low 60's and it barely got to 69 which was uncomfortable for us. They did bring us up a fan which helped but since my husband has vertigo attacks if it's too warm , it's been a no go for us ever since.

Now I don't know how accurate my experience was or if they were trying to igignora bigger issue but its kept us away. The room was great though and the walk wasn't bad at all.

So I found out why things are booked , there's a huge convention from the 24-26th then Saturday there's also the Anaheim garden and home show.

However check apps like Hotel Tonight , Orbitz and Priceline for better deals.

Ugh! Yeah, that explains a lot! I’m booking the Sheraton now but will continue to watch the sites in case I can get Fairfield for cheaper. I appreciate all your help!
