I'm so excited...DH told me to go take a break, so I decided on DL with my AP by myself. I registered for my APEEs. My dad heard and got a little jealous (we're having the whole family trip in Nov)...so now he's tagging along. The 36 & 73 yr old Disney nuts set free for 2.5 days.

He's looking forward to the "new" Star Tours and Trader Sam's (we spent countless times growing up at the Warf Bar...actually me and my brother were at the underwater arcade).

Of course I'm interested in Carsland...but really anything will beat having to do the Tiki Room 3 times in a row with the kids. I'd also like to check out the Carthay Lounge.

So since he doesn't have EE for CA...I figure we'd attempt RSR on a Mon (we'll be there 8/12-8/14). Is the best idea to wait for a FP? He doesn't want to do the single rider line. What time should we be at the gates?

Also, how is Carnation Cafe now for breakfast? I'm heartbroken that the Croissant Benedict is gone...but I'll be good and go for my dad.

Oh my, so much to do in so little time :)

I hesitate to respond Heymy as I don't have first hand experience yet (I will actually be there the same time as you but for the whole week.) But here is what I have gleaned from obsessive trolling on disboards re various plans for RSR. If you don't have EE the best strategy is to get a FP if you can't do singe rider. Even without EE you still need to show up at DCA maingate by 7:15am as they are letting the general public in at 7:30am and then holding them near CCT. Within this crowd they are already organizing a FP line for RSR so look for that and get in the line. Once the clock hits 8am, they a take the general public RSR FP line and meld it with the end of the line of EE people who are already in a queue for RSR FP. You should be able to get a FP and it will take you 30 to 45 minutes in the FP line to get it. Enjoy your special trip with your dad. I so wish I could have a day at Dland with mine. His mobility issues are too severe now, but I remember fondly a trip when he took my sister and I as teenagers. We had a blast!

Thank you Congo Queen! That's exactly what I was looking for. I'm sure I've read it here before...but the brain is a bit scattered right now. ;) Have a wonderful trip!!!
