Last minute trip - ideas needed

Since we are planning a last minute trip, we aren't able to get really any good ADRs, and events such as pirates and pals, and mickey's backyard bbq are sold out.

Looking for ideas of fun things to do outside of the parks (but still Disney related!) for our 3 and 5 year old (almost 4 and 6)

Visit the EPCOT area resorts, especially by boat. My kids at that age always loved traveling by different transportation methods. The Boardwalk is fun to walk around and has entertainment, and has some good family-friendly restaurants (Big River Grill only takes reservations by phone, so you may still be able to get in there.) Consider Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club, or any of the restaurants at the Swan & Dolphin, which are also easier to get reservations for.

You can rent boats on the lake at the Yacht Club/Swan & Dolphin area, and your kids might like the swan boats especially.

You can also take them to the Chip & Dale campfire/sing-along at Fort Wilderness: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/chip-n-dale-campfire-sing-a-long/

If you time it right, you can watch the fireworks from the ferry crossing Seven Seas Lagoon or from the boat to and from the Wilderness Lodge.

I just planned and got back from our last minute Disney trip, and it was wonderful! My boys are 6 and 3, and I was able to get a lot of last minute ADR's by stalking MDE and the boards here. If you go to Disney restaurants, and click on the tab for Disney dining reservations you can then look for a thread that has the month you are travelling and says cancelled ADR thread. I subscribed to the thread, and then when people were cancelling an ADR in the dates I needed I was able to coordinate with them and pick up their reservation.

It worked great! I was able to pick up BOG, CRT and CP at 8:05 am

Also, my son loved the Pirate Adventure cruise. You may be able to make a reservation for that, as they have 4 different cruises, so there is more chance for availability.

I have heard (but not experienced) from Josh on Easywdw that the food at Trails End in Fort Wilderness is very similar to the Hoop Dee Doo food. What about an evening eat at the Trails End, riding ponies and then enjoying the Sing-a-long campfire with Chip and Dale?

My kids' favorite evenings at Disney were always the campfires and marshmallow roasting at our resort, and the movie under the stars.
