We just found out that we are going to be heading to WDW, staying at the contemporary the last week of January. We are also heading there in August. I'd like to buy an annual pass. I also want to do fast passes. How would I do this?

1. Do I see about adding tickets to the room. (we are staying with DH who will be attending a conference) then upgrade to APs when we arrive?
2. Do I buy an annual pass now and see about linking it to the room reservation somehow? Can I schedule fast passes that way?

Something else?

My first priority if restaurant reservations, but then what? Only will be in the park (MK) for 2-3 days).

I would purchase the annual pass online, it'll add to your account immediately and make you eligible for the passholder discounts to switch your room and save a few more dollars. I think last week of jan is still available as a discount. You can do all your fastpasses and everything the normal 60 days (or right away in your case). When you make it to WDW, your just going to stop by guest relations for a few minutes to turn in your voucher and activate your annual pass. They will give you the hard passholder card and discount booklet when you activate and your renewal date will be the same day.

If you buy tickets via Disney, it's no problem to upgrade them. If you can get tickets through DH's conference, just make sure they are upgradable!
