Last minute trip and magic bands

We are thinking of a last minute trip for our 15th Anniversary. It would be adults only as my DSIL and her DH are celebrating their 25th and have booked already awhile ago. Anyway, we would stay onsite starting 8/27 I think. (only doing 4 nights--depart on the 31st). So if I book tonight, will our magic bands be sent to us or will we have to get them at the resort? Also, what about ME luggage tags? Is this enough time to get those? I asked on another thread on the Disney Resorts board, but someone told me to ask here.

P.S. 1 more question, when I order the park tickets, do I get a confirmation number so I can start booking FP+?

As long as you customize the MagicBands at least 10 days prior to your check-in date, they should be mailed to your home address (US addresses only).

If you purchase tickets using the disneyworld.com website, you can select the will call option which will give you a confirmation number that can be used to link the tickets to MDE. The disneyworld.com website may ask you which individuals from your family & friends list will be using the tickets and link them at the time of purchase.

I wouldn't count on getting your tags for ME. If you don't you will just have to get your luggage yourself and bring it to the ME counter. Been there done that once.

We booked a last minute trip (booked 7/17; arrive 7/28). I was told by Disney that when you order the MBs within a week of arrival they will be shipped to your resort and not to your home

I'm positive that you can book DME as close as 10 days before your trip and still get the tags. And even if you don't get tags, you don't have to get your luggage yourself. Just take your claim ticket to the DME desk and they'll take care of it.

We booked a month out and didn't get DME tags. We gave them our claim tickets. One of our bags didn't get delivered for 1 1/2 days. I won't take that chance again.
