Last minute trip and FP+

I have a friend going on a last minute trip in about 2 weeks--joining DH for a conference with 2kids. She says that FP are all for very late at night when she tries to book (after 9pm) and it's not letting her change times. Does this sound right? Anyone have ideas other than doing this the day of at a kiosk?

Anyone have ideas other than doing this the day of at a kiosk?

She can book the attractions that she wants and then go in to change their times to an earlier slot (if available). It doesn't sound right that all of the FP+ time slots are late at night. When we did in-park FP+ for our 4th+ we always had a lot of times to choose from, from early afternoon to right before close.
