Since we have decided to be crazy and take a last minute trip when there is free dining, our choices are very limited for ressies.

We are a couple with 2 children (11 and 9)

Choices are between
1) Biergarten or Les Chef at Epcot.....of course Le Ceillier, Coral Reef, etc are sold out but anyone is welcome to throw out another one that is a favorite.

2) Grand Floridian, Wolfgang or Raglan on our day off..............

3) Grand Floridian or Captain Grill for day we are at Magic Kingdom.

Thanks for any thoughts:-)

Keep trying for what you want. I search everyday to see if new reservation times are popping up, we managed to snag Chef Mickey's for our trip only last week and we leave in 13 days!!

I also suggest trying to get day of reservations, have the concierge or front desk call to see what is available, or call yourself. People cancel all the time as schedules do tend to change while at the parks.

And fromy your selections above ... we love Les Chefs and Raglan!

Enjoy your trip! :cool1:

1) I like Biergarten better than Chefs. Biergarten is one of my favorites at Epcot (better than Le Cellier and Coral Reef)

2) Ragland is my favorite of these 3.

3) I like Captains Grille better than GF Cafe but only a little.

I would go to the GF Cafe to eat on your MK day since it's right there. Captain's Grill was one of the worst meals I ever had in a restaurant and definitely not worth travelling to if you are going to be at the MK. Maybe if you were going on an EPCOT day since people have different tastes & likes or I could have been there the day the chef cooked with his feet or something..LOL

Les Chefs & Raglan Road are on my to try list for future trips. I'd also consider House of Blues on the DTD day. I know it's a chain but it's pretty reliable and tasty! :)

I like both Biergarten and Chefs, but for different reasons. I much preferred the food at Chefs. But the atmosphere at Biergarten is fun. So I think which of those would depend on your family's preferences.

I'd probably go to Raglan Road on your day off, but just because I've heard great things about it. I've never actually tried it.

For MK day, I've heard both places are good. I'd probably go with Grand Floridian because it's closer.

Biergarten is one of our favs (including DD8 and DS3). THe atmosphere is a lot of fun.

I would say #2 is about equal. They are all good.

I think #3 is equal too. Both good!

Have fun!

I was there last there during free dining and we walked in to a few restaurants-some tips:
~go during odd disney times......breakfast after rope drop-we walked in to Crystal Palace with a ten min wait around 945 one of our mornings.

~lunches.....found out when the restaurant opens and walk in first thing-we did this with Mama Melrose and saw people doing it with Le Celier-we had a 11:25 ADr with LC but people were getting 15-20 min waits.

~dinner is trickier I think because people tend to eat later than usual @ WDW-I would try for and early dinner around 4:30-5. Or we walked up to Cape May clambake when it opened around 530 and waited about 15 mins.

With an ADR-its advanced dining so the restaurants still leave almost half the restaurant available for walk ups. You can always go check in the place you want to see whats available for the day go back.
