So this trip wasn't really planned, honest (DH thinks otherwise, but he knows I'm always looking for a way to feed my habit
)
Normally, I am the ueber-planner. I have everything on spreadsheets, color coded, alarms set to make ADRs on the first possible day, alternatives ready in case someone somehow beats me to the punch. I know park hours, extra magic hours, and have researched crowd patterns. I drive DH a little nuts in a way that only the DIS can understand
Then, forces converged, and the next thing I know I am planning a trip with less than three weeks notice, and NO IDEA what we will do when we get there. It started innocently enough. I'd been looking into the YES program for a school related activity, when I noticed that they had individual enrollement and some classes for both DD12 and DS6 that sounded really neat. But we weren't planning a trip, so I kept on surfing...
Then, the Mickey Mafia as DH calls them (known to the rest of us as Disney Destinations) sent me a room-only PIN. Hmmm, this was starting to get interesting...
Then, got an email from DD's school with a calendar change for her class retreat. OK, clearly, we are meant to take this trip, so I call DH at work and start with "I know this is spontaneous, and probably a little irresponsible, but..." He surprised me by saying "I think we should - we've all been way too stressed lately.."
So, fellow DISsers, here I am, discounted park tickets purchased, PIN reservation at POP, and other than the day of the kids YES class, no firm plans yet! HELP!!!
We get there on a Wednesday, probably late morning. I'm thinking check into POP (any tips? Never even seen it before), then head out to AK (never a full day park for us, but we've never done it later in the day). Possibly Epcot for evening EMH that night. Dinner? Flame Tree? POP?
Thursday - MK for am EMH? DHS for rope drop to get to TSM? Then MK? Probably eat at Captain Cooks for either lunch or dinner, depending where we are.
Friday - starts early at MK for YES program, lunch ADR at LTT. Then Epcot for F&W? Or midday break and spring for MNSSHP that night?
Saturday - DHS for am EMH? This will only work if we don't do MNSSHP the night before. If we do that, later start to the morning and then F&W, which might be packed?
Sunday - go home
So, as you can see, I need serious help. We are very willing to do CS for 99.9% of our meals, but I don't want burgers, nuggets and fries. So any CS thoughts (park or resort)? We have 4-day hopper tix. Don't want to do commando style parks, but want to fit a good amount in. Don't have to do DTD this trip. Could even leave out AK if necessary, but would like to fit it in if possible.
What would you do?
TIA!
