I have a military salute ticket that has 2 days left on it (at least I think it's two days, may only be one??). Given that those days are going to expire at the end of September, I got it into my head to do a last minute trip to Orlando. I have a three day weekend 9/7 to 9/9. I managed to find a GREAT rate for Friday and Saturday night at the Dolphin. I have a flight on hold at a decent price going down late Thursday night and back Sunday evening. I'll just need to grab a cheap hotel near the airport for Thursday night.

I've traveled on my own often in the past, but never done more than a day by myself in Disney. Is this totally insane?

Just to up the insanity factor, I'm considering trying to do a grand slam on one of the days. I've always wanted to try it -- not sure why I find it so appealing, I imagine it's just exhausting.

Go for it. I've done the one day blitz (passing through while visiting family in FL). Just make sure to have comfy shoes, band aids for blisters, and do counter service or take along snacks for meals. Don't expect to hit everything. I made a short list of must dos and went from there. Fastpasses were a big help.

I have to laugh. I was down in Nov. 2010 and needed to check how many unexpired days I had left on a pass. The CM brought up the information and listed off where I had used it. Her eyes got a little bigger as she was seeing the 4 parks in one day.

During my first trip, i did mk, epcot et dtd during one day. The next i did dhs, ak a break at my hotel and mk for wishes. It was a solo trip during 3 days and awasome.
I arrived on thursday afternoon left on sunday morning. I was back for another trip 2 months after. The second trip was also solo.

I say if you have the opportunity to do it, then do it.
Just remember that you probably can't hit every ride, so make a list of must-do rides/attractions before you go.

Besides that, I made a last minute trip myself (though mine is for five days) and am glad I made that decision.

I would definitely go. I don't think anyone should ever turn down an opportunity to go to Disney. Also, you have the time to go, so why not?

Good advice so far on the 4 parks in one day. We did a birthday marathon last year . we planned on at least one ride and one show and one drink in each park. We were exhausted but had a great time.

September crowds are low enough to make it work. Will you have a car? It will really cut down on your time between parks. The only thing that might complicate your task is that the parks have shorter hours this time of year. MK closes at 7pm on the 7th and the 8th and AK closes at 5pm.

Have fun!!
