Last minute reservations for 15 ppl

My dh's extended family who mostly live in Fl have decided to "join us" for the weekend while we are at WDW in August. Of course I already have made all my families ADR's - now everyone is just assuming they can join us when they feel like it. I have tried to explain that you just can't show up at a Disney restaurant with a reservation for 4ppl and expect they can seat 15 So I think I have comprimised by talking everyone into 1 big family dinner on the Friday night, guess who gets to make the reservation.

I had originally made reservations at Spoodles (for 4 ppl) and they could accommodate 15 ppl but not at the same table or we can also get reservations at Oliva's ( MIL & FIL are staying at Old Key West) for 15 ppl at one table. I should mention there are 7 children with in the group. I already tried all the character meals, Ohana's & Whispering Canyon's Cafe.

Any other suggestions or thoughts on Spoodles vs Olivia's

I would call to see who has availability first. WE have done Olivia's with a party of 12 and didnot have any problems being seated together. I can't offer any info on Spoodles since we have never eaten there.

How about a DTD restaurant like Raglan Road... you can book 'that on www.opentable.com and actually check availability first.

I have actually had luck walking up to Ohana's with 12 people on a tuesday night, maybe it will work for you or I just got really lucky

Wonder if you can call dining and say I have this large group on what ever date, where is there availability for us? We have had large groups in the past too and we always end up at several tables. I would think it would be easier to get into a resturant in a resort than in the parks. Or howabout Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD- they don't take ADR's but they should be able to handle a large group, food is delish and you hardly feel like your eating at a CS. Good luck, it will be hard to make everyone happy.
