Ok, so we arrive in 2 days and I have a few last minute questions:

We won't have a rental car, and all 5 of us are moving on to an onsite stay at WDW after 3 days at US, so we were planning on taking a cab from the airport to HRH. But I get the feeling no one does this - all the posts and trip reports mention towncar service, shuttles, etc.... Am I missing something - are cabs a bad idea?

Bubba Gump Shrimp is my kids favorite restaurant, and we don't have them here, so they are desperate to go the first night. Trouble is, I don't want to make a ressie when I have no idea how long it will take us to get from the airport to the hotel, get a bit unpacked and be ready for dinner. Will it be impossible to get a table on a Saturday night without a reservation?

How long does the commute from the airport take? I assume we'll be a bit bogged down in rush hour, since our plane lands at 5pm

When I fly in, I always take a cab. It's roughly $50.

I doubt you'll need a reservation, I never have. As to the commute, I'd guess that if your plane is actually on time, you should be at the hotel at least by 6, taking into consideration the time it takes to retrieve your bags, get a cab, and drive there.

We always take a cab. It is fast and easy. It should take you about half an hour to get there and give yourself another half an hour to get checked in.

I wouldn't worry about a reservation. You should be able to find somewhere to eat no problem.

I'm not positive, someone who's been there more than once can probably verify, but I think your room key from HRH can get you prefered seating at UO restaurants...

Can't wait to be there in a little over a week!!! :)
