Hi, we're off on Monday and I just found out its going to be -1 to -6 degrees, eek!

We're only going for one day, and its our first ever visit so I have been planning the route, or trying to, and I hope you dont mind me asking a few last minute questions.

I have decided just to stick to the main Park and not go to the studios as we only have one day, is this a good idea, or is it relatively easy and quick to switch parks? Because I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old and some of the shows such as animagique do appeal, and it may be good to be inside for a bit in such cold weather.

I cant decide whether to bring the pushchair for the two year old, she doesnt really use it much but it might be usefull for an hour or two - I heard you cant take them in the queues so what do you do with them? If its not strictly necessary is it likely to be more of a hindrance than a help?

Is Big thunder mountain really suitable for 4 year olds??

The parade starts at 17.00 but how long does it last? I see the route on the map but I dont know which is the beginning and which is the end. This would be usefull info as we have been advised to not stand in the middle as its more crowded!

I also cant find much info about the Rythms of the jungle, how long does it take to do this?

I am guessing we are going at one of the quietest times, are there likely still be long queues for the most popular attractions?

Im a bit gutted as a lot of the toddler friendly rides in fantasy land are shut!

Thanks ever so much for your help x

I don't where you are looking for your météo but it's never going to be -6 on Monday :goodvibes

It will be cold and it will no doubt feel colder over there as it's very open but we are looking at 2° in the day. It should also be sunny which will help enormously.

The parks are right next to each other so it's like 5 minutes walk between the 2 main gates

Your pushchair is left at the entrance of the ride, there's a space where you leave them. I'd take it as you will be doing a lot of walking and with the cold she might be happier sitting down more
You could always lock it up if it's valuable and you are worried about someone taking it but it happens rarely

Some children love the rides like BTM and others hate it so it really does depend on your little one. You could always get a baby switch and test it out first on your own and then see if you think it's suitable :)

The parade could come from either direction, best thing to do is ask a CM when you see them on Main Street roping off the route

No idea what is Rythms of the jungle unless it's the meet and greet near Hakuna Mata :confused3

It will be quiet so don't worry about getting everything done, we were there Wednesday and it was really really calm :goodvibes

I wouldn't rule out going to the Studios as well as there's Animagique, the Playhouse Disney show, magic carpets and Toy Story Playland. However, theres a lot to keep them occupied in the Disneyland Park so it is debatable as to whether you'd have time: a tricky decision!
Queues at the moment are minimal: even Dumbo isn't getting queues over 15 mins!!! This means that you will get lots of rides done: yay!:woohoo:
I would take a pushchair as you will be able to move more quickly between lands , and possibly parks, and it will come in very handy at the end of the day when the 2 year-old is shattered! It's also useful for bag and snack storage! You leave them in the designated areas outside each ride but be aware that CMs may 'tidy' it so don't stress if it isn't exactly where you left it!
My daughter did Thunder Mountain when she was 4 and she loved it but she was a bit of an adrenaline-junkie back then! It's quite fast and a bit dark when you go under the lake but it's fine if your 4 yr-old is quite a brave soul.
Start to finish the parade is only about 10 mins. When we went in August it started at the big gates in Fantasyland near It's a Small World and the ice-cream parlour. We usually stand opposite Pizzeria Bella Notte as it's quite quiet here and you don't need to bag a place until 10 mins before it starts. It may even be less than that at this time of year which will be good in those temperatures!
Can't help with Rhythms of the Jungle as I haven't seen it!
Hope this helps and I hope it warms up for the following week! We're taking ski wear but even so...!:scared1:

Hi

I would take a buggy, in fact my DS is 4 and although he would never dream of using the buggy at home he has used it on every trip to Disney!

BTM is now the favourite ride of my DS. He loves it..... He first when on it about 2 months after his 4th birthday. He also loves star wars, buzz lightyear, small world, Peter pan and phantom manor.

The studios has great kids things, stitch live, animagique and playhouse Disney are brilliant and great if it's freezing.

We were there a year past Christmas and it was freezing, DS had his thermals,
Snow suit, hat, scarf, gloves etc and he was happy as larry. Remember your own thermas and a hat!

Have a great time.

Just a thought, if a lot of the 'littlie' rides are closed in Fantasyland then you probably will want to venture over to the Studios to do the things others suggest :thumbsup2...

I'd second taking a pushchair. Your child will be tired by the end of the day without a doubt! We are debating taking two pushchairs when we go this time (DDs will be just turned 4 and 7). The 7 year old will walk most of the time but 5 days in the parks can take it's toll. (We may however buy APs and will get pushchair rental free for one DD so that will help!).

Have a great time!

about BTM and a 4yrs old, one important question is to know if the kid is tall enough.
It might sound silly but some 4yrs old may actually be shorter than the required 1.02m (40in)
My son turned 4 in december, and he's 38in tall. And even though he's still in the "normal" height charts for his age, he can't ride on many rides.

So I mention that just in case.

I agree with all the OP - definitely take a buggy :thumbsup2

Judging by the ages of your lo's I'd suggest walking down Main ST, into Fantasyland and doing the rides you can there first. This will probably be the most age appropriate rides for your.

Buzz in Discoveryland would be good too.

Regarding BTM - I agree that it depends on your child. My eldest DS loved BTM aged 4. My youngest DS has only just tried it, nearly 7, and wasn't so keen.

Maybe split your day into 2, and do main park in the morning, studios in the afternoon for the shows etc and then back to the main park for parade (depending on timings of course). You'll appreciate a rest watching these.

I'd also suggest watching the parade from Bella Note, which is in Fantasayland - just opposite Small World and round the corner. We only discovered this last time (7th trip!) and it was empty - and that was in the height of summer for the evening parade. This was where the parade started when we were there.

Have a great time :goodvibes

Hey, lucky you only 2 sleeps! Take the pushchair :scared1: we didn't take ours for our 4 year old a couple of years back as she never used one but we ended up having to hire one (they're not cheap) as after a couple of hours of walking it was too much. We're going in 3 weeks, DS is almost 4 and hasn't used a pushchair for ages but I'm definitely taking one, even considering take one for DD who's 6. She hasn't been in a pushchair since the one we hired in DLP.

Don't rule out the studio's if you can manage to pop across as the Playhouse Disney show would be wonderful for a 2 year old!

Have fun x

Thanks so much this is all really really helpful info. Maybe we should take TWO pushchairs then lol. If you go on the train from Main St and leave the pushchair do you just have to walk back and get it later?(ie you cant take it on the train) Hmm well I had the route all sorted out even taking into account the closures but now I am so tempted to go to the studios as well that I think it might be all up in the air and Im feeling a bit confused!

So pleased it wont be -6 :) I think I must have been looking at the night time temperature - although my android phone is now saying snow on Tues (our actual day in the park)

On the train the pushchairs can go on the plateforms behind each carriage so you don't have to do a full circle of the park ;)

Snow is planned but not before next weekend, don't wish us any colder or worse than it is already :lmao:

What's the weather like with you atm and I am right in thinking you are in France too ? :goodvibes

Hi, :goodvibes yes I am in Brittany which is normally fairly mild, but we are definatlely having a cold snap as its about 6 degrees today. Beautiful blue skies and sunshine though so totally bearable! If it is sunny on Tues I wont mind it being cold, we will be all wrapped up, really not keen on snow though, Im sure it would be pretty but we dont want to get wet!
