Last Minute Questions - Fastpass Plus, RFID, DVC Annual Pass

Good morning all. We've got a 10 day WDW trip coming up, and this is the least prepared we've EVER been (as far as scanning the boards for things we need to know, etc..). I'm just getting up to speed on fastpass plus, etc.

Our original plan was (1) wife and I were going to purchase annual passes with the DVC discount when we got to WDW on Friday 9/27 and (2) our son was going to buy a 5 day park hopper when he joins us at WDW on Monday 9/30.

Some (probably newbie) questions...

1. We've never ordered APs online (or park hoppers). If we do that today (instead of waiting to get to WDW), we probably won't have time to get anything in the mail before we leave. Would we get an email that we can use as confirmation to pick up the APs when we get to WDW?

2. If we DO get an email, can we use a confirmation number in the email to make FP+ reservations? (I already have the Disney Experience app installed).

3. i'm really lost on how this all fits in with the RFID tags. Are the APs unrelated to the tags (meaning are the RFID tags just used at the resorts)? Is Disney going to mail us RFID tags bacause we bought APs?? FYI, we're going to Kidani for the 1st 2 days of our trip, then moving to BLT for the balance.

If you order on-line, you can select will-call and get an email confirmation.

Yes. You will still need to get the actual APs and those will need to be linked after the exchange. FP+ selections are tied to individuals in MDE, so doing the actual exchange should not impact those FP+ selections.

WDW is using RFID for many functions. All current ticket media issued at WDW is on RFID Cards. The MagicBands are RFID Devices. You will use a RFID Device or Card to enter your room, enter theme parks, enter the FP+ return line.

Currently, you can only customize MagicBands and make FastPass+ selections if you are staying at a participating resort during a specific time period. Testing has not yet been extended past Oct check-ins.

Thanks again, i think that explains it. I think i am missing out by just a few days here! According to the link you sent:

Kidani is from 9/30 to 10/31 (we are there on 9/27 and 9/28)
Bay Lake is from 9/30 to 10/31 (we arrive there 9/29! so i guess we miss it by 1 day, but we will actually be staying at BLT during this timeframe)
Saratoga is from 10/21 to 10/31 (we are there on 10/4 and 10/5)
