Hey Everyone!

We just booked a last minute trip over the Memorial day weekend! I'm a Disney sucker, what can I say?

We drive down on Friday May 27 and have two park days, the 28th (Saturday) and the 29th (Sunday) and drive home Monday.

This will be my 3 year old son's first time, and my first time taking a child to the parks!

We are doing MK both days. We are staying offsite, as the costs/availability wasn't where we needed it to be.

He is 38 inches without shoes on, so he can ride the Mine Train!

What should we FP if available at our 30 day window? Mine Train, Peter Pan, what about Characters? I doubt he would want to see any princesses. I've never done M&G's before, so have no idea!

I have a Chicco stroller, is that fine or should I rent a different one? A stroller fan? We are from Louisiana so the heat won't bother us too bad, but if he falls asleep in the stroller, I think a fan would be nice.

We are going at a slower pace and doing kinda whatever makes him happy. I plan to start showing him youTube videos.

We have dinner ressies at Kona Cafe Saturday and GF Cafe Sunday.

Anything else I should consider?

The talking Mickey at Town Square is a FP+ option if you want to hit the rides/attractions first. It's at the front of the park so you could schedule it as your last FP+ if you plan to take afternoon breaks(likely with a 3yr old).

Buzz would probably be fun if he's into Toy Story. He can probably reach the laser and shoot it. Winnie the Pooh is usually a good one if he's a fan of the cartoon. When DS was 3 last year he was really into Disney Jr channel and knew a lot of the characters so we did the rides of ones he liked. As we got a feeling for what he liked we adjusted our FP and never had an issue with getting ones for the things like Haunted Mansion, Pirates of Caribbean, etc.

Consider Crystal Palace breakfast. Awesome chance to meet all the Pooh Characters. I wasn't a huge fan of Kona Cafe. Food was ok but service was pretty bad. Definitely wouldn't be near my top choices on a 2 day trip. I'm not usually an advocate for Chef Mickey's but you get the classic characters (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc). It's expensive and the food is comparable to a Golden Corral buffet but again, it gets your son character time when you are pretty short on park time.

My son loves Tom sawyer island. It is one big playground...it is never really busy and it is a great place to blow off energy.

Even tall enough my son would freak out at mine train. Are there any fairs in town you can go to ahead of time to see if he will do okay with the ride.

Jungle cruise is a good fast pass option for little ones. More fun and less scary than some of the dark rides.

Plan to watch the fireworks or water parade at poly after your kona reservation. With a dole whip in hand :)

Also a stroller rain cover for like 15 bucks was one of the best investments ever. I think I could have stood outside mk and sold for 100 a pop. If you are there 2 days and it rains you won't want to leave.

I forgot about Tom Sawyer Island - I have never been, great idea!

He went to a fair a few months ago and loved everything I put him on, even stuff I was scared on. He is mostly scared of "scary things" like dark or skeletons/skulls - so Haunted Mansion is probably out. But thrill things, he is usually down for. Mine Train is over so quick, so there is that.

Stroller cover - I wrote that down and will order! Every time we go to Disney, we drown at least one day!
