Does anyone else get jitters about going the day before? I don't know why but every trip I get panicky and feel like I just don't want to go. We go to Disney at least once a year (sometimes more), we go on at least one or two cruises a year and yet before each vacation I get this sick feeling and think I should just stay home. We have always had a good time, and once we go I am fine. Then when we get home I start planning another trip. Anyone else with this feeling?

Yes All the time.

I have 3 vacations booked between now and November. We are leaving for Vegas next week and I have the jitters too. It's not the flying, it's leaving home. It starts to go away once the limo comes, then goes away a little more once I check in, by the time we are up in the air I'm fine.

I'm starting to get that feeling right now! I won't be calm again until I get to my Resort in a couple days, and am checked in and on my way to the parks.

I do get the jitters but it is not because I don't want to go it's because I'm thinking about flying. I have a weird phobia about really large things. I don't mind flying but I am actually affraid of the plane itself. I am always real jittery and scared until I actually am on the plane. And trust me if you ever met me on a flight that the jetway wasn't working you'd remember me. I WON'T get off the plane until it's fixed. This has happend to me so that is why I get the jitters!

I had it too. I thought it was just because we were going so far from home. Hope I don't get it again next year.

I got it too right before our trip. I don't know what it is...I love going to Disney, but I always get a little jittery right before we leave.

I have the jitters right now. I am not packed, I got to clean my house and get some sleep before we leave first thing in the morning. BC here we come.

I'm like this too. In my case I think it's kind of buyer's remorse, because it's such an expensive trip. Also, after all that planning, what if I've forgotten something?

That being said, I always feel fine once I get there. It's just the couple of days before, I start feeling sick and thinking I don't want to go. Even though we always have fun.

I'm doing the 3-weeks dance today. On July 22 I'll be having dinner in the Biergarten.

Off Subject a little bit. But in May was flying out of Ft. Myers on Jet blue back to Boston. Flight was suppose to take off @ 3pm. boarded plane at 2:30. Plane never took off until after 4:00 because they needed to wait for the maitainence guy to come and sign off and make sure the plane was ok (they couldn't find him supposedly, but i don't know if they were covering up something). so they had us sitting on the plane for an 1 1/2 hours, before we actually got in line to take off.

I have found JB does not lie about anything, Last sept we were flyibg home after hurricane Jeanne in WDW. We had the flight from hell. first someone had a heart attack or somethig and was laing ob the floor by the galley...they had the defibs ready and asked for a doctor. I thought we were going to make an emergency landing, but instead we circled over MD for a while. When we approached JFK we hd an aborted landing...the gear was down and I saw the runway. We had to go back up in a hurry...straight up...I thought we were back in WDW, Lots of perple got sick. The pilot got on and said he was sorry, but nother plane crossed in front and knocked out his computer. Since we flew into Jeanne, he was using instruments since the rain was heavy and clouds thick. If he did not see the other plane at the last minute and pull out we would have been a story on the 6 o'clock news. After all that, we had to wait for the EMT's to take out the sick person which took about 20 min. I don't know if the plot was an idiot or a genius...but he was covered in sweat.

I definitely get the jitters during the week before a Disney trip. I start to fear that I have put TOO much thought into the vacation and that there is no way it can live up to my expectations. Ironically, it surpasses my expectations every time, but I still get nervous!

We leave for the Poly in 5 days, and my nervousness has taken a whole new scary form this year: organization obsession. I have cleaned every drawer and closet in my house during this last week. I have donated endless bags of clothing to charity. My children are worried that if they stand still too long, I will take the clothes they are currently wearing and wash them so that all the laundry is done!

I want to close my eyes and wake up on Thursday just so I can stop cleaning!

I just thought of something....I know what would calm me down....a visit from the tag fairy! (That was a shameless ploy, I know!)

I AM!! This is a 1st trip to WDW and I'm nervous about the weather & the crowds. I've been to Disneyland plenty of times on really crowded days so I think (I hope) that it will never be as bad as that..but we'll see.

I feel really prepared though thanks to you all and Tour Guide Mike! I hope it works!

Marianne

PS. I'm not thrilled about flying either! :earseek:

I'm afraid to fly, so day before fear is a given...
also week before...month before...year before.... :)

Yes, I get the jitterybugs! I only have a week to go and I have so much to do and don't know if I can get it all done! I have so much packing left to do, I have to take the car to get services (we drive). There is just so much to do.

We have a week to go, and this morning I woke up feeling that way.....all jittery and thinking, maybe i didn't want to go.

It's like I get cold feet right before...but of course I want to go. I don't know why I feel that way but I always do!

Yup, me too....before any vacation trip. I get that weird feeling like I'm not supposed to go. I keep thinking I'm having some sort of premonition. But, we go anyway and I always have a good time! Seems like we all have 'tripaphobia'!

I have 3 days to go, and I feel this way, too. :confused3 I know it's happened before most of our big vacations, and I've had a great time, every time, so I'm sure this one will be fine too.

I would love to know the reason why so many people (myself included!) feel this way before a big vacation??? :scratchin I should've been a psychiatrist! I love trying to understand WHY people think and feel the way they do! lol

Anyway, I'm sure we will all have wonderful vacations, and return safely home afterwards (for those of us who aren't thrilled with flying). :teeth:

I always worry that somebody will get sick. We will be there, and a kid will get the flu and be vomiting and we will have to spend 5 days in the hotel room recovering. Then we will have wasted all that money, time, etc.... And I will stay in the hotel room with sick child the whole time while they are crying and missing all the fun! Then someone else in the family will get it and the plane ride back will be torture....!

I have 4 more days till our trip and I'm already feeling them! Don't know why though :confused3
