We're leaving in several days. I have my birth certificate the original one with raised seal, but it has my maiden name on it....Will it be accepted?? :confused3 Please tell me yes, since I don't know what else I could do. Thanks

You will probably kick yourself when you think about it.....

All women that are married and take their husband's name when they marry will naturally have their maiden name on their birth certificates as that was the name they had when they were born......birth certificates do not get changed when you are married.

So, all women will have their maiden name on their birth certificates but their cruise docs will have their married name ....now, when and if you get a passport that will have your married name but a BC will always have your maiden name on it.

I hope that makes sense...

We just went on the June 19th Wonder and we brought a copy of our marriage cert just in case, but they never asked for it. A birth cert is plenty. Have fun :mickeybar

Yor birth certificate and Drivers liscence with the same B-day on it will work!!!

I know when I flew to Bermuda I needed to have my birth certificate AND my marriage license, so you might want to bring your marriage license just in case. I'm in the process of getting my passport so I don't have to worry about this anymore, lol.

I also took my marriage license with us, just in case and never needed it. All they looked at were our birth certificates and drivers license. If I were you, I would take your marriage license, just to make you feel better! :flower:

On our cruise this past January, we brought our birth certificates/passports and were NEVER asked to show them, which really surprised me! We only showed our drivers licenses to get into the cruise terminal.

Impossibe......had to have showed birth certificates or passports to board the ship.........Here is DCL rules.......

What documentation do I need to bring?

All U.S. and Canadian citizens must travel with proof of citizenship, which is a valid passport, original, state-certified birth certificate and picture identification, or a certified naturalization certificate with a picture identification. Acceptable forms of picture identification are state or provincial driver's license, or federal, state, province or local government photo I.D. card. Guests age 17 and under who are U.S. or Canadian citizens are only required to have proof of citizenship, excluding picture identification. These guidelines are based on U.S. government regulations which are subject to change at any time. It is the Guest's responsibility to check with their Travel Agent, government agencies, embassies or consulates prior to their vacation to ensure that they have proper documentation. Any Guest traveling without proper documentation will not be allowed to board the vessel and no refund of cruise fare will be issued.

Security guidelines require all adult Guests to show a picture I.D. to embark and disembark the ship in all ports, including Castaway Cay. Please be advised that anyone under the age of 18 wishing to go ashore unaccompanied will be required to have a consenting parent, guardian or other responsible adult with them at the gangway, to provide their signature as authorization.

I was recently reading a travel book in which this question is addressed, and it said that you should bring your original marriage certificate with you. I'd take it along. Better safe than sorry!

Yea - I would have thought impossible, too, but none in our party were asked to show proof other than our drivers license to get into the terminal. I'm not saying the docs aren't needed by any means, but I am saying that on our last cruise we weren't asked to show anything.

I too, brought birth certificates for my DH, DD, DS and self. WAs never asked to show them at the cruise terminal. I had them with me in my hand, but was never asked for them. Only drivers license.
