Does anyone know if Disney would allow a last minute add-on? My mother does not know if she wants to go with us.

She may decide to do that a day before or the same day as the sailing. Our stateroom is for 4 people and she would be the 4th one, so we wouldn't have to book a different category if she came, just add her to the same room. I wonder if Disney would add her at the port if she decided she wanted to come.

I can't find any information on that. Thanks

There are two issues that I see. One is that even if a room can sleep 4 people, they may not allow an additional person in the room due to the number of people for the muster station assigned to that room reaching its limit. Secondly, I thought I read that the cruise manifest has to be set at least a couple days before sailing so that it can be cleared by Customs (or is it DHS?).

Thank's Maggie's Mom. Because of you mentioning the cruise manifest needing to be cleared, I found another way to google it. And, I found that the State Department requires the manifest to be submitted 72 hours in advance. So, she only has a small window to decide. Now, I am getting somewhere. :)

You can certainly book last minute cruises including the day before. I don't recall if I saw a post about someone who was able to book same day. They remove the cruises from the website a few days prior, which is a deterrent itself, but they should be able to call DCL directly and inquire. Your other point is correct about the muster stations.

@Captainkate , the manifest can certainly be altered and amended but the draft list is submitted earlier to allow for pre-processing. They then process the ship again as it gets closer as a result of any changes.

Quellman, are you saying she can be added the day before??? ( allowing for muster stations) That would be great.

I wonder where I can read about this.

I would call now and see if they can even add her due to the lifeboat situation. Even though the room sleeps 4 there may be zero spots left for the lifeboat muster station your room is assigned to.

I would call DCL and ask. We wanted to add someone to our cabin two months ago and could not because of the number of people assigned to our muster area.

I agree to call now and ask, as it may not even be an option if the cruise is full or you may need to change staterooms. The additional passenger will pay current fare, not necessarily the fare if originally included on the reservation; sometimes even the 3rd/4th passenger fares have increased considerably. Passengers can book by phone at least up to the day prior to embarkation. However she can't just "show up" at the port with you; she needs to already have a reservation or be on your reservation to enter the terminal.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

Not sure where you can read about it since I don't know maritime law. My source, though a little dated was from multiple sources at DCL when I worked for the mouse. Though the Customs and Border Patrol has a handy guide here. Though I don't think it talks about the deadlines for submission.
