Hi all just wondering if it is possible to get last minute flights at a good price for the last two weeks of august?

we got flights two weeks before in May and got a great price for direct.

The prices for direct currently are £719 pp (found on Kayak) this is with Condor through Thomas Cook. (for 2 weeks) our dates are really flexible up to 3rd September.

hope someone can help! x

It's certainly possible to get good deals late on even in August, but it all depends on availability if there are lots of seats around the price with charter airlines will nearly always drop ( not as likely on scheduled airlines ), if there are few or no seats then they won't!!

It's a risky game to play, you could end up with a good deal or you could end up with nothing, if you have to be out there at a specific time and have little flexibility then I'd be tempted to book now, if however you are fairly flexible ( as it seems you are )then it may be worth the risk

Thanks! i am considering a flight with one stop in Atlanta at the minute. i can get the 6 of us there for £3000 The onlt thing is we have only ever flown direct before and im not sure how we would cope with 4 children doing this!

if you fly indirect through Atlanta do you have to collect your bags then recheck them in again? it will be two different airlines so i suspect this may be the case.

i have zero idea of how indirect works as you can tell! x

You collect and re-check going out but not coming home, its only a matter of yards from collect to drop, very easy.

Which airline is it? usual via Atlanta is Delta, might be AirFrance or KLM ticket but the planes are Delta both transatlantic and internal.

its Air France then delta there then opposite on way back! so majority of the journey will be air france.

I would need more details (flight codes & times) but if your journey is Manchester to Atlanta to Orlando then its all Delta, AirFrance do not do that route. Your Ticket will have been sold as AirFrance codeshare, they can sell an allocated amount of tickets but you actually fly on a Delta plane, not AF.

Our next flight is KLM to Atlanta 10:20am on 1st April but again KLM do not fly from MAN to ATL, it will be a Delta plane we are on.

We got 4 of us from Man - Orlando via Atlanta 25 Aug / 8 Sep for around £1860 through Travelocity USA site (thanks Wayne!) flying with Delta.

Last week they emailed to say my outbound flight time had been pushed back and therefore my Atlanta connection wouldn't be viable. I called them and they sorted it within 5 minutes, booking us on the next flight out of Atlanta. Only difference now is we leave Man at 12.45pm instead of 10.20am and arrive in Orlando at 8.30pm instead of 5.30pm. Actually the new time gives us a bit extra time in Atlanta as it was a little tight originally.

May need an extra seat on the 22nd July so keeping an eye out for a bargin too
