We're here now and having a great time. Just wish it wasn't so hot...

Anyways, we'll be staking out seats for Fantasmic tonight. Is the area in front just for people to sit on the ground? Or do people stand once the show starts? (We have picnic blankets to throw on the ground when we stake out a spot.)

Can you sit and watch fireworks afterwards or do you need to get up and leave asap? I don't need to see all the special effects tonight. Just want to see some fireworks in the sky. We'll try for a better fireworks special effects view tomorrow night.

How wet do you get if you're in the front area?

Thanks!

Sitting only, the CMs will be insisting everyone sit in the roped area for safety concerns. Most people do stay and watch the fireworks after the first show.

The area in front near the water is for sitting. People will not be allowed to stand.

I have never tried to see fireworks from there but most people report you can. If you want to stay you can but there will be people clamoring for your spot for the the later F! show. And a lot of commotion of people leaving the F! show.

You will not get wet at all (unless it is raining ;)). No water from the show comes into the crowd. :)

I agree with the other posters.

After Fantasmic, I would definitely stay and watch the fireworks afterward.

In early-July we staked out a spot in the center (first row), and I thought the view for the fireworks was very good! The soundtrack for the fireworks is played in the Fantasmic area, and the sound quality is excellent.

If you are sitting in the very first 2-3 rows of people, sometimes the spray from the water screens will get you wet if there is a breeze heading your direction. Not splashing wet, but misting wet.

If you sit halfway back or more, you should not get wet at all.

Watching the fireworks after F! is my 2nd favorite firework spot....favorite: In front of Small World!!

Hi what fireworks are you talking about? Do you mean the Magic Kingdoms:confused3

Magic Kingdom is in WDW, we do not have a MK at DL. And the only park that has fireworks is DL, DCA does not have anything like that, until next year when they open the water show there. :)

Thanks for the replies! Boy the crowds were heavy this morning. I'm afraid to see what they'll be like tonight for the shows.

Friday & Saturday nights are usually insane as far as crowds go. You are almost forced to stay for the fireworks (after the first Fantasmic) because it's just plain hard to get out over the POTC bridge with all those people. The fireworks are OK over there, but I really need to see the castle in order set the scene.

We accidentally saw F one night (no plans to do it but DS fell fast asleep and we happened upon a spot), and afterwards hubby wanted to go on HM, so I stood with the stroller in that basic area. My spot was NOT something you would purposely *choose* to watch the fireworks from, but it gives something of an idea of what you can see from the basic area.

What about the new Halloween fireowrks show? Does anyone have any info on what is special about them? The reason I ask is because I don't know if there are going to be special effects or maybe even 360 degree fireworks (Like WDW "Parties") that will be lost on you if you aren't watching from a certain location.

I'd like to know if I can stick around the Fantasmic area for them or if I should try my best to fight through the crowds (going on Sunday OCT 4) to get in front of the castle.

Well, being that I have 2 young children & 2 seniors in my party, I don't expect to be able to do as much. But I'd have to say that it would be VERY difficult to go from the Fantasmic area to the castle in a timely manner. The area is VERY crowded and there is a bottleneck when you try to go through Adventureland. Most people just stayed and watched the fireworks since they started maybe 3 minutes after the end of Fantasmic.

We just enjoyed the fireworks for themselves. Sure it would've been cooler to see them with the special effects, but it wasn't meant to be for us. You do have the soundtrack to go with the fireworks, so it wasn't all bad.

Maybe you could see the fireworks at 9:25, then go over to see Fantasmic at 10:30.

BTW, we got a sitting spot right in front of the reserved section.

You might want to start a separate thread for this question. :goodvibes

IMO you have three choices:

1) See the fireworks and Fantasmic on separate nights :thumbsup2

2) See the 9:25pm fireworks in front of the castle, and then see the second Fantasmic at 10:30pm

3) See the first Fantasmic at 9:00pm, and then stay in the Fantasmic area to watch the fireworks (as described above in some previous posts).

From my personal experience, I would highly recommend not trying to fight the crowds to see the fireworks after watching the first Fantasmic. It's madness! :earsboy: And it's also not fair to the Guests who waited to see the fireworks. :earsboy:

HTH :earsboy:
