last minute family add on?

My mother and I have never had a great relationship however she does really try with her grandchildren. My son (12) and I are going down to WDW in June and she knows about it and has asked to meet us there. She's local and will drive over. Our dining and fast passes have been set--she may get a room as well but prefers to not make set plans and will just decide on the day--so only day of fast passes for her. She doesn't have a plan of which day/s she may come.

What do you when you've planned a trip for 2 but a 3rd person wants to meet up on uncertain days? We can probably alter our dining plans to find somewhere with a table for 3 but mostly unsure of how to deal with fast passes.

any tips?

You can go to do kiosk, where there’s usually a CM, and they will help. Happened to us and we were able to Overlap a FP ... but don’t expect fop etc..
I’d just go about ur day and she ll just have to understand the situation is Not within ur control for last minute add ins
Try the meals..
enjoy and don’t let the Unplanned get u crazed... u and ur son deserve to have ur vacation ur way!

I would tell her that these are your plans and that it may not be easy to simply add her at the last moment. If she decides to keep it a last minute decision, then she has to understand she may not end up included in everything you had planned to do.

I would try to increase all of my ADRs to 3 people now, just in case it's a day she would like to join you. FP times don't have to exactly match, just overlap. I see nothing wrong in letting your mom use your MB to ride with your son on something that would be special to them. Does your mom already have an MDE account? I would get on that ASAP if she does not.

FPs are helpful, bit they really are only a small portion of your day.

Thanks! Yes, I was able to change our adrs from 2 to 3. We'll try to overlap her fps but if we can't do those initial 3 with her then when we do our 4th and so on we can ride together. Thank you again!
