Last minute DVC bookings?

I agree with Deb & Bill, a "Welcome Home" booking does not magically create last minute availability. It may have been possible in some very specific circumstances, like if your desired resort had turned rooms over to cash for breakage inventory (rooms not reserved by DVC members) or if there is extra inventory held by the developer. Last minute bookings, even for "Welcome Home" does not really guarantee specific availability. And they surely would not relocate another member that booked earlier to accommodate a "Welcome Home" booking.

My guess is that some owners are cancelling trips that are more than 30 days out, but not as far out as summer because of coronavirus. They know it is a busy time of the year and they are worried about crowds. But that is not going to happen every time the OP wants to book a trip.

True. Actually, right now may be the best time to visit for smaller crowds. My family is definitely excited for our April trip!

It's still busy...my son and DIL got back from a five day visit only yesterday. EPCOT and HS were crazy busy...
