Okay here is the deal. Last minute trip to my fav place on earth. Need Help! I have never been this time of year. Players are me and my two boys ages 10 & 12. We hav booked for Coronodo Springs from December 5th through the 10th. Here are my questions...

1. Weather? We are from CT so I know it has to be warmer than home, but what do i pack?

2. What is the hotel like? Food Court etc?

3. Park hours? Are we really going to miss much with the parks closing early?

4. Mickeys very merry thingy worth the money?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

In December anything goes...we were there for a long weekend 2 years ago. THe week before it had been cold so I packed long sleeves, jackets & jeans. The days we were there it was in the 80s (thank goodness I brought one pair of shorts).

And Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party was worth it in my opinion. Lots of holiday fun.

Have you considered the weekend DISConII event??

Have a great time!! Look for lots of lime-green and lanyards, whatever you do!!

I'm doing the MVMCP but, haven't before so, I can't answer until after 12/3! ;)

Your questions about clothing are the same as mine!! Some answers, folks??

A&H's mom said it. It could be shorts weather, or it could be freezing. I have pics from December last year of me wearing shorts & t-shirt by day, jeans and long-sleeved tee by night. I always bring long sleeves to wear when the sun falls and when I go indoors (I'm very cold-natured). The long sleeves are really a necessity if it sprinkles in the least and then I try to go inside... BRRRRRRRR cold!

Coronado Springs is really nice. I spent a half day just wandering around taking pictures and such. I wasn't expecting much, but I love it! Someone here has a nice CSR website I'll try to find for you.

Food court - I didn't eat there, but they had lots of variety from what I remember. I'm a big fan of refillable mugs. The set-up is a little strange in the way you get your food there... no problem if your sons are independent. The table service restaurant is very nice for a moderate.

Generally, when the hours are shortened, the crowds are lighter, so it all evens out. Of course, now with FP, you might be a little better off in the busy season, especially where shows are concerned, since they take up large chunks of time regardless of the season. You should be fine, though. You sound like you know what you're doing. Definitely get to DAK at opening, though, and plan out what shows you want to see first thing, since they only have a few shows each day.

Don't know about MVMCP. Is that the after-hours in the park thing or the dinner at the contemp? I did the dinner and could not have been less impressed, but I was seated far away.

This was a sign posted all over WDW a couple of years ago when we were there in Dec. (our favorite time to go by the way!) and the temps were way below feezing many nights!! We were dodging falling palm fronds and watching the amazing grounds people working overtime setting up huge heat blowers after the parks closed at night, trying to keep the foliage alive! I was just putting these pics in a scrapbook yesterday. Our family pic that year in front of the castle is my absolute fave! We are all bundled up in winter coats!! We have been other times in Dec. when shorts were needed during the day and swimming was very comfy in the afternoon...it's always a little chilly at night. Sooo....ya gotta take a little of everything! It is very difficult to pack light when you go to Disney this time of year.
