Has anybody ever had any success with getting really cheap last minute deals?

Cant afford prices that im looking at just now, and im finding myself turning my nose up at anywhere else that its suggested we go!

If you're interested in staying on property, the longer you wait the LESS deals there are. It doesn't get better at the last minute, it just gets more booked up. It's not much better at non-Disney resorts, but sometimes there are specials at DTD resorts that are relatively "last minute". Sign up for their newletter if you are interested (google dtd resorts).

Monarch holidays frequently have excellent last minute prices except for October half term which was rubbish last year.

I just did a test for a fortnight using todays date and it came back with £1200 for a family of 4 for a fortnight including flights and accomodation. Not 5 star but if you need a Florida fix it should suffice!

Hotukdeals has a post about avro showing flights from £199 per person too

Think it depends how picky you are. We looked for October half term in September last year for a last minute surprise trip and initally couldn't find any direct flights - the flight is long enough for us without changing somewhere.

Evenutally found four flights on BA (suspect they were cancellations or tour operator returns) but we are picky on resort and only wanted WDW moderate or deluxe. Got booked at usual full price at CSR with free QSDP upgraded to DDP. Booked the accomodation and tickets direct with UK WDW but the flights alone cost us as much as the entire holiday would usually if we booked with Virgin holidays so we won't be doing that again.

Having said which if you can flyout of school holidays with any airline and are willing to stay in any location then I know lots of friends who have had real bargains from their holidays.

The only last minute deals I got were about 15 years ago at £199 for fly drives! :sad2:

There have been a few bargain flights posted periodically - when do you want to go?

I can go anytime, not restricted to school holidays, however my better halfs holiday periods are june and then october/november.

I can only get a weeks holidays before 31st october so it looks like november time.

Last year Cosmos had cheap deals for the three of us for a week in June with a cheap hotel it cost 750.00. A bargin. You could also get seats in premium for not much more.

If u are willing to book flights seperate then you can look on flightscanner ,netflights, expedia etc and most places like hotelopia ,alpharooms, travel republic charge per room not per person and don,t charge for kids. You can also get discount codes for hotelopia and alpha rooms from google or join topcash go through there site and get cash back. God you can tell iv been coached by wayne;):rotfl:

We are also looking for a quick fix need it to be cheap and probably just flights as we are doing the whole disney trip in SEp so would like to travel about, my question is when to book to get a reallly cheap price, we are looking at going mid May dont mind which airport MCO or Sandford prefferably from Manchester for between 7 and 11 nights.

Any suggestions? Do we book now or wait?

More worried about the prices going up as we get nearer:confused3

Last year loads came up for mid to late May on Monarch Holidays (was Cosmos).

Outright steal type prices if you could drop everything and go in two days!

Saw premium flights + villa for 14 nights for just under £1000 one day last year for family of 4

We have our own place although we rent it out permanently now and around ten years ago we got a last minute deal for June flying for £99 each with Thomas Cook (or it could have been Thomson?) so that plus car hire meant a really cheap holiday for us. You can get last minute deals definitely if you are flexible with where you stay, who you fly with and where you fly from/into. Check teletext and travel agents windows, have your bags packed ready to go and then shop around!
