Last minute deals calling 24 hrs. or a week before leaving?

I heard from my AAA agent that her bro got a $140 rate at Poly last September by calling within a week of leaving (he decided to go at last minute).

Has anyone had this happen? If yes, how far in advance, which resort, and when???

I once called CRO at 7pm wanting a reservation for THAT NIGHT (unexpected business trip) and was quoted a rack rate for all the moderates and all star (ALL were available). I was sort of surprised by it. They basically were willing to let the room go rather than mark it down. This could be a matter of who you get on the phone.

Last week I booked POR 1 week out for $94 (included the tax). Being obsessive, I continued to call all week trying to get into a deluxe for under $150, but no luck.

So far, I've really seen no rhyme or reason for the deals I've gotten. I think its the luck of the draw (or what promotion code you may have stumbled upon).

I agree -- there is no rhyme or reason. A couple years ago, I booked two nights at the yc a couple days before we left for about $180. It was an AP rate, and I had been trying to get one for weeks with no luck.

In July, I called on Wednesday for Friday-Saturday night and could not get an AP rate or other discount for any of the moderates, WL or AKL. Was offered YC/BC but rate wasn't good. Took FW for $144.

for sjw4870 you said you just booked for 94.00 nt. when are you going. We have all stars for 9 nts in about 2 weeks and im paying around 94.00 with AAA disc. Thanks

I went last week. I think I called on saturday the 19th and arrived saturday the 26th. $94 for POR
