We're considering taking the August 19th Wonder 3 night Bahamas cruise, but won't know till August 6th or so whether or not we can.

Has anyone booked this closely before, and how would that work (providing cabins are available). I'm wondering about doc delivery, etc.

Thanks,

I would think that if there were room on board for you that they would not deliver your docs. They'd most likely arrange for you to pick them up at the port terminal. I doubt they could sell air at this late a date, so you'd have to book that on your own (probably cheaper, anyway). The only other difference I can think of is that full payment would be required when you make the booking, rather than a deposit.

We just booked, last week, the Eastern Cruise leaving this week, June 12. I paid in full, and received our documents yesterday.

Wow, that's fast! Did you book through Disney or a TA?

Not sure of your answer, but just wanted to say we (my family & my sister's family) just booked the 8/19/04 today. Plenty of rooms still it appears.

Our record booking time was less than 48 hours before the cruise. You pick up your docs at the "will call" window at the port. You show your photo ID when you enter the port, and they look you up on their list. THen, once inside, you go to the supervisor/will call window. The gals there are VERY fast...she tears up your ticket book and hands you what you need to complete....meanwhile, she is processing your stuff. They are very used to doing this. We did that one thru a TA, but could also be done thru DCL directly.

all this info is so good to know as we had to cancel our spring cruise and were hoping for a short one this summer, now were waiting for one of our children to see the cardiologist before we can make plans..hoping for a short 3 or 4 day August 5 or 8 or 12.

Our prayers are with you at the cardiologist. That's always a little scary for a child. We booked two weeks before leaving and picked up our docs at the port. We had DCL transfers and our names were on the list and we were able to pick up luggage tags at the Hyatt.
