Last Minute Christmas Trip!

The regular Hoop Dee Doo show open to all guests has holiday additions outside of the designated DVC shows.

The DVC event has a special pre-show and a 'commemorative keepsake.' Like you mentioned, this event is only for members eligible for membership benefits.
Oh good to know, thanks!

Weather permitting, there is nothing better than walking down Main Street in the snoap storm listening to Christmas carols in a t-shirt and shorts

Great advice thanks, I have been stalking like crazy now im at akv but I have a hodgepodge of rooms at Jambo and kidani lol! I tried to call and ask them to pull cash rooms from breakage and she had no idea what I was talking about and then told me her supervisor said no lol! I see them on the website so I guess there's hope that a wl will go thru! Good advice about the oark days, didnt even think about that, I have yet to see fantasmic!

So we are fully back to akv lol! Thank you tho this is good info for the future. I want to stay at SSR when we have more time to golf, this trip is going to be non stop action 🤣 do you have any advice on how to ask for breakage rooms, it seems like they dont really know what im talking about when I ask, I see some deals on the cash side and its driving me crazy but the deal they have is not good for december!
Breakage rooms are rooms that have gone unbooked by DVC members at the 60-day window and have been turned over to the cash side (CRO) to be "rented" for cash. The rooms that you are seeing are probably rooms that have been turned over to the cash side when DVC members exchanged their points for something like a cruise, ABD excursion or a non-DVC resort booking. Those rooms cannot be turned back over to DVC for booking on points because those "points" have already been used by a member and so DVC needs to "rent" those rooms for cash to pay for the exchange.

Rooms for cash can show up for a few reasons and breakage is only one of them.

One is trades for things like ABD, cruises, etc. Another is that they were secured by DVC using points owned by DVD

The last is breakage which is inventory not booked by owners…

There is no way for owners to know why you see cash rooms and where they came from nor is there a requirement by DVC to move back breakage for an owner because they want it after it’s been moved to cash.

I don’t think I saw an answer to your question 1.

A preferred room is located in Congress Park (closest to Disney Springs) or The Springs section (closest to the main pool and the lobby).

To/from the parks, the first stop is the Grandstand section and the last stop is the Springs. Grandstand is not a preferred location though. For the Preferred, Congress park is next to the last and Springs is the last stop for the buses to/from the parks.

The Springs section is several buildings across the street from the main pool. We have been in one of the farther buildings in the Springs and would walk across the bridge to the Paddock pool area which also has a bus stop which is the third stop (one stop before the Congress Park stop.)

If you stay in the Springs and want to go to Disney Springs, there are several options.
There is the Disney Springs bus.
There’s a walkway that will take you to Congress Park area, behind those buildings and along the water to get to Disney Springs (closer to the Earl of Sandwich area of DS).
There is also another walkway behind the lobby building that goes across to Disney Springs (closer to the Cirque area and restaurants of the west side).
Lastly, there is boat transportation to several stops at Disney Springs.

Have a great trip!!!

Im looking forward to seeing the gingerbread animals! We just switched to all akv, my wife is thrilled and so am i! Will be the first time there in a one bedroom! So much to do!
We are also at AKV jambo in December. Very excited to stay here, then switch to BWV. I was able to use SSR points to book this about ten days ago. Surprised waitlist did not take it first. Standard view though

Just adding to the weather discussion - we went in 2022 from the Northeast. Was FREEZING almost the entire time. It actually got into the 30s at night. So...you need to prepare for anything. We were lucky because we flew down with our heavier coats on, but people were walking around in blankets and all sorts of stuff they had to buy in the shops. You just have to check the weather the week and few days before you leave.

Here’s my two cents, for what it’s worth.

I assume you are a frequent or at least regular guest at WDW. I am a local AP so I fit into that category as well. My recommendation is to focus only on the holiday foods and activities. For a short trip, you will do well to squeeze in all the extra hiloday stuff. Don’t spend time on meals and attractions that you can see any time. Do the holiday parties, see the Christmas decor at the resorts and DS, enjoy the special holiday treats, go to Epcot and see CP and enjoy the Festival of the Holidays. The other stuff will be there whenever you go back. The holiday stuff is only once a year.

Have a great trip!
