Last Minute Changes to ADRs

Discussed with my brother in law before making my 180 day ADRs which meals he & his family of 5 will be joining us for. Made all my reservations. He calls me today & tells me, his teenage stepdaughter may not join us, or if she DOES join us, she MAY be bringing a friend but he doesnt know & that friend hasn’t booked anything yet. And her mom might not come bc she’ll want to hang out with the teenagers. What happens when you show up to an ADR short a person or two? Or with an extra person?

I am not sure if you have more people but we have had it happen on a few reservations where we have less and have never had an issue Even at Cinderella's Royal Table the just refunded the money for who didn't come. We never had any issues and just told them at check in that we were now a smaller party.

If it's an odd number of people, going up 1 person or down 1 person isn't much of an issue. Think about table sizes - most of them fit an even amount of people. But if you're going from 6 people to 7 people, then there may not be room at the table.

For extra people please note, it is not really about the table size, it is the fire code and restaurant capacity. Most will at least try to seat you still if you show up with someone extra, though sometimes you could get turned away completely. And if they do try to accomodate you, you may have to wait a while. Less people is not a problem. No fee and no hassle, just tell them how many are there at check-in.
