Is it safe to wait until 11:30pm EDT on my last possible bank day to bank points? I'm on a waitlist and want to delay banking as long as possible in case the waitlist comes through?

I wouldn’t wait that late just because when a waitlist connects it needs to be processed by a CM. I could be wrong but my assumption is those CMs wouldn’t still be working at 11:30pm so you would be waiting for nothing at that point. I’m with @CarolMN in not trusting the site, I would call in on your last day to see if it connected and have them bank your points.

There have been many reports that the banking deadline is the end of the business day, not the end of the actual day. So, I'd say 8:59 EST is the latest for online. But, I would still not wait that long.

And, if you are on a waitlist, I would call in and see if you have a match that is not processed...that can sometimes take a few days and it doesn't show up on the website like that. This way, if you call and there is no match, you can have the CM bank for you.

Theoretically though you could do what you suggest. However close of day for MS operating hours is really your point of last check to see if it has matched or not. Call and if not matched you can ask them to bank them for you and be done.

Not a big fan of calling. So, if I bank on Nov 29 for April, online, I should definitely be okay? The waitlist isn't major, it's actually a back-up for an existing reservation.

The thing is that you'll need to call to give that waitlist all the time possible. They do not match and fill all at the same time but can sit around for days or even weeks. Given that you wanted to wait until almost midnight it seemed like you wanted to give it up until the last possible second and that means calling to confirm yes or no.
