We will be arriving with our 2 and 4 year old tomorrow morning around 10 am. The original plan was to just go to Disney Springs and have a quiet day and go to MK Tuesday. The weather is looking pretty nasty on Tuesday.

Do you think we should change our days around and just go straight to MK tomorrow? I'm worried we will be a little tired and the parks a little more crowded but it looks like a nice day weather wise. We'd also get to sleep in on Tuesday. It's a short trip so we don't have a lot of other options. Appreciate anybody's opinions on what to do. Thanks!

Did you see that MK closes at 4:30 on Tuesday? With that info + the weather, I think you should go to MK tomorrow.

I would probably go to MK on Monday with the weather being nice. Rain all day with a 2 and 4 year old does not sound fun. With MK closing at early on Tuesday you will probably have just as much time in the park as Monday. Yes it may be busier but you could get Genie+ to save time standing in line.

I think there may be other factors at play here. How early does everyone have to get up to leave that morning? How long is the trip? Are you travelling by car, meaning the kids will be sleeping? Or is it the first trip in a plane, which could cause stress for the kids and make them out of sorts when you arrive? When you would be in the park on Monday, is that during a time when they normally would be napping? How well do they do if you change up their schedule?

And if you decide that Monday will not be a park day, is Disney Springs the right choice? I would consider spending time at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I would think the kids might have more fun looking at animals than they would looking at stores. But again, maybe your kids don't think animals are fun.

We have a 6 AM flight so we will be up very early. I don't mind MK closing early since our kids are early to bed, early to rise and no naps so I figure by 4 pm they will be done for the day and we have 5pm dinner reservations Tuesday at Ohana. We are staying at BLT so that will help with some of the travel. I just wish we knew for sure if we could get some dry time in the morning hours. Thanks for the input!!! I will definitely think about Animal Kingdom Lodge if we don't do the park.

That's a tough one. A few years back it was steady rain on our MK day from about 10 a.m. until after dinner time. While the crowds were definitely light, after a while being wet and chilled (when going into the AC) got old. If it's predicted to be more of a passing shower at different points in the day, I'd be inclined to keep your day but if it's going to be an all day rain I'd switch. But I know, it's so hard to tell - we've had days where the forecast called for a lot of rain and as the day went on the hourly forecast kept improving. I can say for myself, in terms of energy level piece of it, I tend to have first day excitement/adrenaline that keeps me going even if we were up for an early morning flight. Good luck and I hope you have a great trip!

Even managing one toddler on a rainy day at Disney was fairly miserable for me, and also very time consuming. I would choose to go Monday.

Of course the forecast could change, too. See what it says for Tuesday when you get up tomorrow.

I agree with checking the forecast tomorrow morning. Right now, weather.com isn't showing much chance of rain until 11:00 am on Tuesday, but that could change (in either direction)!
