We leave tomorrow for our first trip. Any last minute tips from more seasoned Dis' ers? We're driving from New England and have tickets to the Christmas party.

Drive safely :drive:

and have a magical trip! pixiedust:

Go and have a great trip. The party is awesome, especially the parade. Don't go crazy with planning everything down to the last minute as hiccups happen. If you don't see everything that gives you an excuse to go back again:flower3:

Take as many rest stops as you need! Sometimes you just need to get out and run around. Bring a ball to kick or catch.

Remember that CMs are human and make mistakes, and machines (rides) can break.

Check out all of the details! The sights, sounds, smells. It's something I missed terribly when we went to Six Flags.

Go at the slowest persons pace.

When someone gets cranky, stop. See about getting a snack or a drink. Maybe a short rest is needed, maybe a full on nap.

Have Fun!!!

Remember to take some time to just enjoy being there! Stare at the castle, admire the decorations, everything! & as an adult, don't be afraid to get in there for character interactions! You are never too old for a hug from Mickey. :) Have a magical trip! :mickeyjum

Since you are driving, be sure to bring plenty of snacks and drinks with you. You can bring them into the parks without hassle. Who wants to pay $3 for a water when you can bring it yourself.

Have a great time. We are driving from Chicago in 2 weeks. We find driving part of the fun. Stopping for peaches (summer only) or boiled peanuts in Georgia is a must for us.

Have fun! When anyone in the group is getting cranky, take a rest or eat and try to avoid meltdowns. Missing out on something is not the end of the world and will not be fun anyway if anyone is in a mood.

Have fun and don't overdo it! Hopefully you can do some of what you miss on your next trip!!

I agree with the above posters. Taking a break, resting and even a nap during the day if needed is important. I can't even count the times I have seen crying, cranky, obviously tired children being dragged on to "one last ride" by an almost crying, cranky, obviously tired parent who is afraid it will ruin this "once in a lifetime trip" if their child misses it.

It's not the end of the world, and I can tell you from experience, my child, and my nieces and nephews, have had more "that was the BEST ever!!! experiences" that were spur of the moment, unplanned and actually not a ride.

Son's favorite memory: We were walking thru UK (on our way to something or other-can't recall) while the wait staff was standing in front of Rose and Crown. When he passed one of the waiters kicked a soccer ball at him. He kicked it back, the waiter kicked it to a waitress.....

Before we knew it my son was in a full-on soccer match with 5 or 6 wait staff from Rose and Crown in the middle of the streets of UK while a crowd of people stood around cheering the game on. Magical is not even a word you can use.

Those special memories in life sneak up on you, they aren't scheduled, but they do require you to be rested enough to see them :)

Have a Magical time :)
