My family is counting down, 8 days to our dream vaca! We will be flying in on the 5th@pop century. All dining ressies ready, started packing etc. myself,dh,dd 9, ds 4 are celebrating my ds recovery from brain surgery. any last minute advice would b welcome. We haven't been to dis for five years because my son was so sick. Now we're ready for some fun! Also, what should I expect weather wise, I just talked to someone who just got back. They said it rained all week and they were miserable. A little rain couldn't stop me from having fun, but just wondering what to expect. Thanks!:clown:

First and most important HAVE FUN MAKING THOSE MAGICAL MEMORIES! Then realize that DWD is huge and you can't possbily do it all in one trip. You can check the weather channel for the 10 day forecast. Remember it might rain but it doesn't usually last long. Stay in the parks while its raining there are still rides to ride and fun to have. Here are a few more tips I tell my friends that are going:
* dont wear new shoes
* write down the various things the children want and then on the last day when you go
go to buy it you can remember where you saw it
* anyplace that has fountain water must give you a glass of water free
* use ALL your DDP points. For example when DH and I go we have a lot of snack
points left over. We go to Goofys candy shop at Downtown Disney and buy rice krispy
treats and the small plastic containers of cotton candy. Ask what is allowed as an
acceptable snack. Take them home for your children or give them away (I bring them
to our grandchildren)
* Use the photo pass everywhere and remember cast members will also use your camera
to take pictures
* Save everything from menus to everything else for a great scrapbook memory of your
trip. Even if you think it won't matter save it. You will be surprised!
* Sunscreen, body glide, and inuprofen go in our back packs or fanny packs
* Remember since you are staying on site all packages-even pictures- can be sent to
your room and you don't have to carry them.
Okay I am sure that is enough because you will probably get lots of good tips. ENJOY

If rain is still in the forecast, pick up some cheap rain jackets at the Dollar store. They are easy to carry around in your purse or put in a cargo-pants pocket. Crowds thin out when it rains, so it can be a good time to do a lot of stuff.

Also, Animal Kingdom was a great park for us to visit in the last 3 hours that it was opened during the busy Spring Break this year. We were walking on Everest and had no wait for the Safari (animals were out too).

At Epcot, I'd suggest getting a FP for Test Track. Also, do the Single Rider line early in the day without much wait. Make a stop or two at Club Cool too.

Have a fabulous time.

First, so happy to hear about your son's recovery! I will pray for an incredibly blessed celebration trip for your family. I hope you are just blown away with lots of Disney "magic" pixiedust:

My tip that I hear over and over again to get hte most out of your day: Make it to rope drop. Get there 1/2 hour or more before the parks open and you will get a ton more rides done in the first two hours than in the same amount of time later in the day. A lot of people with kids swear by their midday breaks. We will absolutely be taking those on our upcoming trip and going back to the hotel for a few hours when the park gets most crowded (around noonish).

If you have time, check out easywdw dot com for cheat sheets and crowd calendars and/or touring plans website and/or check out the Unofficial Guide 2013 at the library. The websites and apps tell you the most efficient ways to tour the parks. The guide tells you just about everything you could ever want to know including suggested touring plans for the efficient touring.

I am looking forward to playing Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom with my kids in the MK. Since your son is 9, he might be into that as well. I am also looking forward to the Agent P scavenger hunt thing in Epcot as well as Sum of All Thrills ride there. Animation Academy at HS is tops on my list to do there.

The Hidden Mickeys book is a popular pocket sized books you can buy to help keep you occupied in lines (so I have heard).

If you are going to world showcase at Epcot, you can print out a passport ahead of time from the lovely designs of DIS designers from the board. CM will stamp the passports at every country.

My daughter ADORED Bippity Boppity Boutique last time we went when she was 5. Bring your own dress though- it is SO much cheaper. They also have a pirate makeover for boys if your son is into pirates.

We also plan to hit the Chip n Dale singalong and outdoor movie at Fort Wilderness (every evening aroud 7 or 8 pm I think).

Enjoy your trip!
