Last Meal before going into Labor?

Don't remember with my first. I was on bedrest, so whatever my husband provided. I can tell you that the first thing I ate after giving birth was tapioca pudding and cranberry juice, neither of which I liked before but have loved ever since.

The night before my second I stuffed myself at a Spaghetti Factory.

DD23 - McDonalds. lol. We went out to eat after working on our new home that was under construction. I woke up early the next morning when my water broke, and didn't get to eat any breakfast. I only remember what we ate because I was having contractions throughout the meal; and, I met a coworker/friend of DH's for the first time while we were there - and he noticed. He's a joker, and has mentioned it from time to time since then.
DS20 - no idea. :)

For our oldest, my water broke while we were having lunch in Friendly’s...I was eating a turkey melt...didn’t get to finish it, lol! For our youngest, I made my husband stop to pick up French toast sticks from Burger King before heading to the hospital. Long story short, we just made it in time...she was born within 20 minutes of arriving there!

I remember like it was last night....

DD(22) - Fajitas at Chilis
DD(17) - Pierogies (potato & cheese)

Biscuits and peanut butter with oldest
Youngest can’t recall was not feeling well
Long time ago ....

I only remember with my first. I was almost 42 weeks pregnant, went to the hospital to start my induction. 24 hours later, nothing was happening, they gave me the option to go home, I took it, ordered a cheesesteak for dinner, I was starving. My water broke the next morning, headed back to the hospital. It took me over a year of fighting with my insurance company to cover that first night in the hospital as being pregnancy related because I didn’t notify them I was hospitalized (since protocol was to notify them after the birth, and there was no birth).

I actually still remember with our older son (20 year ago now). My wife and I went to Bob Evans for dinner - she was craving their chicken pot pie. I also remember when we went to order, the waitress (looking a little fearfully at my 9 month pregnant wife :p ) told us they took it off their menu recently. I think my wife ended up with chicken and noodles. During dinner, she went to the bathroom and realized her water had broken (or, at least, she thought - keep in mind it was the first child). We went home, packed and headed to the hospital later that night.

Younger son was induced, so I don't recall having any specific meal beforehand.

I don't remember from my first (DS27). Probably breakfast since I had an issue that sent me to the hospital mid-morning.

With DS25 I had worked all day at an account of mine and they brought in Subway sandwiches for everyone for lunch. I worked until 4 and had him by 11 that night.

With DD20 I had Red Lobster. I was 10 days overdue and scheduled for an induction the next morning. So we all went to Red Lobster than night. So strange knowing exactly when it was going to happen. But lovely to have a nice dinner and go home and get everything in order.

I honestly can't recall with either child, however what has always stayed with me was how incredibly hungry I was after having my first son. I think it was after midnight/very early morning (no, I don't recall what time he was born) and I was starving. Beyond starving. Nothing was opened...one of the nurses told me they keep a extra sandwich or two around for this situation from the hospital kitchens and she got one for me.
It was the stalest, plainest turkey on bread. No cheese, no mayo, no lettuce. Dry, dry, dry.
Hands down, best meal I ever had! 25 years later and I still recall that sandwich :P

DS32 - Pizza Hut - supreme pizza. This was for dinner and it was over 24 hours later that he finally arrived. I was starving when I finally delivered but it was 3:10 a.m. the next day and there was nothing to be had but for crackers and juice.
DD30 - Mexican at a local Mexican Restaurant - huge platter of food, burrito, taco, enchilada, rice, beans. My midwife told me to go enjoy lunch since I had a few hours and I sure did enjoy lunch and a walk after before heading to the hospital.

I don't remember what I had before either girl. With my first, though, I didn't eat for about a day and a half, and I remember the sandwich they gave me after was the best I ever had 😂

YES. Best ham sandwich ever...and I'm not usually a fan.

I don't remember what I ate before. With DD22 I knew I was going in the next morning but I don't know if we made the meal special or not.

With DD19 I know the night before we were at a 75th wedding anniversary reception so probably ate there.

With my first it was Outback Steakhouse. I remember because it was my grandmas birthday and she wanted to go there and she was so upset by the end of the meal that I didn’t go into labor because she wanted “a great grand baby for her birthday”....I went home and went to bed and was up at 1am in labor! My son missed her bday by about 13 hours but grandma didn’t hold a grudge.

My second I went into labor at a gas station after work so drove home and hubs drove us right to the hospital. Didn’t have time for dinner so I made him go down to the cafeteria and get me a burger and fries after I was admitted...he had to sneak it in and say it was for himself LOL.

With our oldest, who will be 34 next month, my wife ate a Swanson's Fried Chicken TV dinner and went into labor an hour later. It didn't "stay with her" and she hasn't had one since.

I had Dominoes pizza before going into labor with my first and I retained so much water they had a hard time finding a vein. It was late and they kept poking me until finally someone who worked in the NICU who does baby veins was able to do it. Other than that the labor went very smoothly!

59 yrs ago. I had a banana split then went to Kaufman’s dept store shopping. Then went to the hospital at 3 o’clock the next morning.

I had a huge meal of New York fries and a drink. I remember because my daughter got the hiccups while I was eating. I ended up having an emergency c-section that night because she was breech and they thought maybe her foot would start to slip out

I spent my night in the recovery room barfing so much. There's a reason they don't want you to eat before surgery.

Don't remember with my 2nd because my water broke 4 weeks early with him and it was completely unexpected.

With my first, I hadn't felt well that afternoon and evening so I made scrambled eggs and a toasted English muffin with grape jelly. I also had a yogurt. Ended up being a perfect meal because I needed a c section 8 hours later and a heavier meal would have been...not ideal.

Interesting thread!
I have not and likely will not have children but from what I've learned about labor/delivery I'd choose something that I know usually digests well.
So for me it definitely would not be something like Mexican lol.
I would probably go for something like pizza, mac n cheese, mmmm grilled cheese....
Basically anything with cheese and carbs sounds delish.
