Last day , what do you do?

Typically I prefer to fly out in the morning after our last day, but on our last trip we had a 7pm flight. We went to MK at rope drop, rode our favorites, went to CP for an early lunch and hit Adventureland and Tomorrowland before heading out. Wish we could have spent the whole day, but we still had a great time. Only downside was that we were at CP for over an hour and Pooh never came to our table- had it been earlier in the vacation we would have waited, but wanted to get to our FP+ since it was the last day. Waiting over an hour for any character to show up at a meal is too long anyway.

My Dad and I always have late flights, because we like to get the most out of our time. So, I always take my luggage and leave it with the Bell Service. After that, I do my favorite things at WDW one last time. That would consist of going to Animal Kingdom and riding Expedition Everest and seeing the Festival of the Lion King one last time. After that, I will hop to EPCOT and go to the American Adventure pavilion to listen to the Voices of Liberty until I have to catch the bus/monorail back to the resort for my bus to the airport. I know it doesn't sound like much, but I would just come up with a list of your favorite things to do and do them one last time.

It's become our tradition to make reservations at the Kona at the Polynesian for breakfast....for me, it's Pineapple Macadamia Pancakes...

DD gets the Tonga Toast:

...and our athlete granddaughter who can never get enough food gets the Big Kahuna (and cleans her plate :faint:)...

Then we "walk all that food off" by touring the beautiful grounds. Depending on ME departure time, we sometimes make stops at the GF and CR before busing back to our resort where we wait out the dreaded arrival of "that" bus by lounging at the pool or in the lobby. When DGD's were smaller, we'd go to the MK on the last day for a character meal at Crystal Palace, but since they're now 14 & 10 we found a relaxing departure day the best way to go. Visits to the resort gift shops and the monorail ride ends our trip on a good note. :goodvibes :tink:

We drive, so we make our last day at the parks the day before our travel day. We try to pick a park that closes early (7pm), so we will get back early enough to have a nice dinner, start packing up, and get to bed earlier.

We used to take that last flight home around 7pm and hit up MK one last time before our pick up for MDE. But now that we go more often we enjoy taking a 1pm or so flight home instead. So we sleep in pack and drop off bags then get in a good breakfast. Last trip it was at Ohana's and then get ready to catch the bus.

We always have later flights and a rental car. Will usually resort hop just to check them out. Pick one of them for lunch, after lunch do a little shopping at Down town Disney then head to airport.

I would suggest you don't book an ADR within a park. I was set on going to MK on our last day, ended up everyone wanted to go to AK instead. At least if you have your ADR outside of the park you have options. I guess not as much of an issue if you have hoppers.

My flight going home next month is at 2:30pm so MDE will pick me up around 11:30am. Still debating if I want to do breakfast somewhere outside of the parks, no ticket purchased, or just have breakfast at my resort.

If we are at Disney World, we will save our shopping day for last. If we are at Disneyland, we spend that last half day at Town Square in Disneyland Park meeting all the characters.

My family and I always take a later flight out to NYC on our last day. We usually go to one park and then Disney Springs for some food at WPE prior to heading to the airport. We rent a car so we get to enjoy a few extra hours. The down side is that one year 2014 I believe, we woke up on our last day and as we headed to the bus stop, I noticed that our rental car had a flat tire....>:( We had to to scratch our plans and head to the Disney car care place to get the flat fixed. Totally threw off our day and bummed us out but what could we do....as if the last day at Disney isn't sad enough....:(

Last year we checked our bags then headed over to DS and wandered a bit. Grabbed Earl of Sandwich to eat on the flight and used up the last of our dining credits at Goofy's. Honestly, it felt like a waste of a day because we had to wait for things to open.
This year we got up early, checked our luggage, RAN back to the room to save a lovey that'd been left tangled in the bedsheets and headed to MK. We got there just after rope drop and had a great relaxing time touring the park. We stopped at a bunch of photopass photographers, had my son's silhouette done, rode some rides, met a handful of characters, did some snacking and used up our dining credits on snacks to bring home. I also had one last good cry walking down Main Street to exit the park. We headed out of the part at 1:45, grabbed lunch at the resort food court and caught DME at 3.

Our flight back in 2 weeks is around 7 pm.

I havent planned it all yet, but I think we will do a big breakfast at the hotel and probably go to Epcot since we will be at the Swan.

Get up early, rope drop at Epcot once we've stowed bags with guest services. We just do Future World, and normally plan FP+ to mean we meet Mickey at the character spot as our final thing before we leave. We say goodbye, then go back to the resort to meet the DME.
Aww, I kind of like the idea of saying goodbye to Mickey as the last thing. Then again, I'd probably cry and snot all over him!

We leave first thing in the morning (only way I like it), so our "last" day is actually the day before we leave.

This is the day we go around and buy everything we wanted to buy, eat everything we wanted to eat, take pictures, sneak in another ride or two and just relax with dinner and drinks in the evening. But no matter what we do, the day is still a bit depressing.

I rope drop MK with my two DDs while the hubs packs up the rest of the room and stows the luggage. He meets us in Fantasyland, we have a cinnamon roll at Gaston's tavern, ride our favorite rides one last time, do some shopping for our friends/pet watchers/ nephews/etc. Then we head back to the resort for one last dip in the pool (we rent a locker) before heading off on the Magic Express.
