Ok...I know this is pathetic overplanning because we're not even there yet...but anticipating the sinking feeling we will all have on our very last wdw day...is there anything y'all do special on that final day of your vacation?

TIA!

Robin

We resist the urge to splurge during our trip and wait until the last day to buy anything--and we do it at Downtown Disney. Let me tell ya, though, it's tough leaving. You just can't seem to bring yourself to say "goodbye".

We have traditionally spent our last day in our favorite park, which currently to date has been the MK. We make sure everyone gets at least one last ride on their favorites. We stay until the parks closes, and then have a character meal (Chef Mickey's this last time). We told Mickey and Minnie and Chip and Dale that we were leaving in the morning. I think that they spent more time with us because of that!! We got a ton of great pictures that evening! And we take a picture of ourselves with our sad faces in the parking lot at the TTC. All silly, but true. And as most people say, just start planning the next trip!.........P

Our last park day is spent at MK. Nothing like seeing Main Street at night and saying "until next time!". Our last day in the world is spent at DTD doing souvenir shopping!!!!::yes::

We always have a big breakfast (most days we just eat at the concierge lounge or a quick bit), shop at DTD. Just start to get back to reality. I hate leaving and knowing I won't be back for a year or two.

We are planning on spending the last day in Disney in the Magic Kingdom. It will be the first thing we do and the last! :)

It depends if we are driving or flying. Also depends on the date of the visit. The last two trips, our departing weekend was the Festival of the Masters at DTD and we went to that before we left.
Probably do the same this year since we're going the same week (Jersey Week in November).

We are going to do the Family Magic Tour in the morning, spend the day at MK and do whatever we want to, with dinner at LTT and a late pickup from our towncar and then off to an airport hotel to spend the night before flying home the next day.

We always shop at DtD in the last hours before we leave. And buy Disney candies to eat on the train! (We always take the AutoTrain) Ah, Memories!

We tried to keep the last day open so we could let our moods dictate. We ended up spending 1/2 the day at Epcot and 1/2 the day at MGM just taking in the things we liked best, not worrying about the time -- a slower pace in order to savor the last hours there. Then we took one last stroll around our hotel (the POP) -- and a quick dip in the pool. It was sad... I had wanted to catch Spectromagic and Wishes that last night... something grand like that, but the kids were just too pooped to parkhop one last time.
We left early the next morning.

For our trip in June, we get picked up by towncar at 4:15... so we will again leave the day open, but I imagine we'll head to one of the parks to hit whatever we missed during the trip... then do some shopping or lounging at our hotel pool. The older three kids will go to the Wonderland Tea Party and then shortly after that it is good-bye 'til next time. When we planned our trip I hadn't realized this but the first morning home is my dd's Family Day at Preschool. My oldest will be "graduating" -- so we have that to look forward to, to bring us back to reality! It will be a fun day, but with my emotions on such a rollercoaster from a Disney trip, I bet I'll be crying to see my baby "on-stage" graduating, getting ready for "big-kid" school -- already! time flies... so glad we can make these memories with them!

make it an early night (so we can finish packing), then have breakfast and get the car packed the next morning, and maybe pick up a few more things in the resort gift shop, then bye bye WDW :( . DH doesn't like to get home late in the evening, so there's never enough time before the flight to go to a park on the last day (once we did a quick DTD detour). I got smart after realizing this and now we leave WDW on a Monday to be able to enjoy all day Sunday at the parks. I then got even smarter, and had arrive on a Friday so we have all day Sat at the parks. I keep going like this & we'll never leave WDW!!!! YIPPPEEE! Our flight on our upcoming trip leave Orlando at 4:15, which means we'll probably leave WDW about 1-1:30 (need to return rental car, etc). I wonder if that leaves enough time for 1 last ride on HM and lunch at the food court?

We begin and end each trip at MK. The last few times we've gotten into a tradition of starting the trip in Adventureland the first day and then leaving through Adventureland on the last day.

We'll spend that whole last day doing everything again at MK. Close to park closing or when we have to leave for the airport, DW will head to Main Street if we have any pictures to pick up while DD and I ride BTMRR a few more times. After we walk over the bridge leaving Adventureland, my DD and I will stop and have our 'goodbye' moment with the castle in the background. This consists of taking video of my DD recapping our trip (best things we did, etc.) Then DD will say goodbye to the castle and we meet up with DW. Kind of sappy, but we've been doing it now for the past 4 trips.

That's exactly what we ALWAYS do! Nothing quite like being in the Magic Kindgom to start and end your MAGICAL vacation!

Our last park night is always MK. Usually we have dinner at Chef Mickey's and then head over to MK. The next morning we have breakfast at Kona and take one last monorail ride before leaving for the road trip home.

Our last evening is always spent in MK. Then one last look at the Castle before we leave. Usually there's pouting going on while taking the bus back to our room. Unfortunately it will be a while after this trip coming that we'll be able to return.:(

First and last, it's what we do. For me personally, I do a lot of crying. First and last, it's what I do. I'm teary eyed thinking about it. Dh knows to give me a few to get over it. I love the energy there, the joy, the memories. It just wouldn't be the same if we ended anywhere but MK. Being a Disneyland girl originally (grew up in southern CA) MK is where my strongest connection is. Dh and the kids have no problems with that.

And, when I leave I always get my hand stamped even if it's 5 minutes til closing, I make them get out the stamp. That's my way of ensuring I'll be back someday. It's worked so far ;)

We're another DTD couple. After we check out the very last day, we always stop at DTD and spend any money we have left. Then we eat our last meal at Ghiardelli's-and I always have the same kind of sundae too-[I think it's]Gold Rush, or something like that.

Our last day we have breakfast at Chef Mickeys then head to DTD and shop and snack . Then we head to the airport. And of course all the while we're planning our next trip. Just the thought of leaving WDW makes me want to

Our last day is usually spent getting things together to go home. The night before, we eat dinner at Teppanyaki, enjoy WS, and start talking about our next visit to WDW.:(
