I really don't understand why my camera took fairly decent pics of this parade even though it was after dark, but I'm not complainin'. Maybe it was because we were so close to the characters.
We parked our EVCs against the curb near the hub to watch the fireworks. It was shoulder-to-shoulder people. It was so crowded that I really didn't enjoy the show at all. Next time, I'm going to be watching the fireworks back by IASW.
Getting out of the park after the fireworks was a very sl-o-o-w process...there were so many people. I guess it was a good time to be going home...but really...is there ever a good time to leave DL?
And that was the end of our vacation.
Things I missed:
Turtle Talk with Crush. I missed this at WDW by a couple of weeks, and I missed it this time because of the Snow White Exhibit, so I still haven't seen it.
Aladdin over at DCA. The schedule I had printed out from the DL website before I left home was all wrong regarding this show. I didn't realize that the schedule had changed until it was too late.
"Remember, Dreams Come True Fireworks." Heavy sigh...at least I got to see 1/2 of the show.
Going to DL over Veteran's Day weekend wasn't near the tragedy I thought it would be. The park didn't close their gate the entire week we were there, and the only really crowded day was the last one with the official holiday opening.
We didn't wait in any long lines, and although some of them broke down, we eventually got around to doing everything we wanted to do.
It was too warm for this Washingtonian a few of the days we were there, but being able to walk on Grizzly Rapids anytime we wanted to kept us cool for the most part.
Renting the ECV was a real blessing.
I loved the Christmas decorations, but I think we'll go a little later in the season next time to be really immersed in the whole magical holiday feel of the park.
Now....onto planning our next trip..even though we aren't going til December of 2009!
