Last Day, No Park ideas

Our airline changed our return flight time (again) and we wound up booking a night at the Hyatt MCO so we can fly out early next day instead. This means we'll be checking out of the Grand Floridian at 11:00 and will transfer over to the airport hotel sometime in the evening (probably around 6ish following a last dinner on property). We won't have park tickets as we're already maxed out at the 10 day ticket - I don't think an 11th day would qualify for the discounted rate.

What would you do with the time? I am thinking of just a true resort day, maybe a nice breakfast reservation somewhere, time at the pool, maybe Disney Springs? I've literally never had a full resort day in Disney and I don't quite know what to do with ourselves. It'll be me and the husband and two littles.

I'd skip a park day in the middle of the trip and use your 10th click that morning. I don't like to pack wet bathing suits so I wouldn't do any swimming the last day.

This idea has occurred to me too, and it could MAYBE work except we're traveling as part of a larger party and we have our park days planned ahead of time. I'd have to give some thought to this one.

After that many park days, time to just sit and relax and recharge before you head home sounds great! Pack a couple zip lock baggies for those wet suits.

I'm with some of the PP, skip a park day mid trip and add a relaxing resort day to swim, do Disney Springs, whatever....and then do a short park day on your last day when you move over to the airport hotel. We usually always squeeze in a resort day even for 6 day trips. After 10 days, I think 2 free days are needed LOL

On our last day we went to typhoon lagoon for the day, then went back to WL for dinner at geyser point then Uber to MCO (we stayed in the hotel at MCO too).

There’s a lot to do, esp. at the contemporary (rent a boat) and horseback/pony/carriage rides at the wilderness lodge. If you can grab a Story Book dinner at Artist’s Point that sounds great. Lounges and fireworks make for a great evening. Disney springs might be worth a visit. Personally we go to Epcot on checkout day for a few hours and we’re usually there during one of the festivals (flower&garden/Food & Wine).

We have "down days" scheduled on Day 6 & 7 (they fall on a weekend so it's a good time to stick around the resort). We still were *planning* to use park tickets those days though for dining reservations and maybe a short stint at Epcot (we will be at the Beach Club those days, so easy to just pop over). Maybe we could move one of those reservations to another day to save the park ticket for later.
