Last Day For Splendid China

Just saw in the Orlando Sentinel that Splendid China will close today. I was always curious about it but never got there.

LOL! Banzai that's why it's closing. It was a theme park (backed by the government of China) not far from WDW that highlighted Chinese culture. Lack of advertising was one of the reasons cited for their low attendance. The link is to the Orlando Sentinel article.

Went once when it first opened and it was actually pretty fun but I sure couldn't see any reason to go again. They had shows like live animal shows and acrobats and dancers and the food was great but the rest of it was pretty stationary.

The sites of China in minature were actually pretty phenomenal but, again, I saw it once...no reason to go again.

Aside from advertising they might have tried things like special festivals or something that would make you want to go again.

Too bad, though. Wonder what they'll do with it?
