Last day and airport

We're on the 7 day Eastern and our flight home is around 3:30 pm. Any suggestions on how to fill the time? I want to get to the airport 2 hours ahead so I figure we only have a few hours to kill.

We got a day room at the Airport Hyatt for $60.00 and it was great! We were at the airport by 8:30 am and couldn't check in for our 3:00 flight until 11:00 am so we got a smart cart and rolled over to the Hyatt to check-in. We weren't allowed to bring the smart carts up to our room, but they checked them and kept them in a roped off area by the front desk and we took our carry-ons up. The room was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the airport concourse and the pool was right down the hall from our room. They try to put the day room people close to the pool area. We spent a couple of hours at the pool, then changed into our clothes and went down to check-in with our airline and get rid of our checked baggage. From there, we went and had a leisurely lunch at Chili's, then went back to our room to get our carry-ons, checked out and headed down to the gate to catch our flight. It sure beat spending 6-1/2 hours hanging out in the airport and lugging our luggage around. The day room rate is good until 6:00 PM.

This sounds like a wonderful idea for us. We currently have reservations for a couple of nights at the Hard Rock after the cruise but we may have to cut our trip short. I wouldn't schedule our return air until the late afternoon so a day room sounds wonderful. Do you book this directly through the hotel in advance like a regular overnight room? Thanks!

I had to call Hyatt's toll-free number since it wouldn't take a day reservation on their website. They gave me a rate of $60 plus tax to use a room between 10a-6p.

I called the Hyatt Orlando directly as well. I don't remember what the number was, but you can get it from their web-site. They'll give you a confirmation number when you make your reservation and it is $60.00 plux taxes which comes out to about $68.00 and that rate is good until 6:00 pm. We checked in earlier than 10 am since we were at the airport by about 8:30. I guess they had rooms ready because they didn't say anything to us about a 10 am check-in. I do remember they were very helpful and very friendly.

We just got a day room on Sunday when we got back and it was wonderful. The rate is $75 now but it was so worth it. The only problem was that the pool was closed because of storm damage around it from Hurricane Charley but we all took naps instead. It was a wonderful idea.

Downtown Disney....Space Center....day room at Hyatt....shopping at Florida Mall....depends on what transportation you have available. Remember that they suggest that you be at the airport 2 hours before your flight.
