(from Renee)

Happy Monday!!!

Don't know about anybody else with kids, but today was the first day of school for ours!

It's beginning to feel alot like vacation is coming!!!

woo-hoo.....can't wait!!!!!!

Hi all -

I just read a trip report from the Aug 9 Eastern. I hadn't thought of it before, but after reading her trip report it made me wonder if anyone would know if you have a problem getting to theme nights with late dinner seating.

On our 4 day cruise last year, we had early seating, so after dinner we either strolled around just taking it all in or went back to our stateroom for some freshening up before heading to the theme nights at the club.

With the late seating, will we miss the theme nights? I absolutely love 80's night. On the 4-day, DH was asked to be part of the Bon Jovi band, and don't you know it, I didn't have my camera. The one time...LOL...so I'm hoping the opportunity presents itself again...him in a long haired wig is priceless. :)

So anyone who's had late seating and still made it to enjoy theme nights, please put my mind at ease.

Thanks

Hey Dana! We always had late seating...and have it again...and make it to the parties!!! We just go straight from dinner and we are there before they start! No worries!!!

I love the theme parties!!!!! :)

Thanks Kamy!

You make me feel much better. I love those nights and can't wait to get dancing!

I'm sure I'll see you on the dance floor. :)

Actually, you probably see me on the dance floor. Probably by myself. I have no shame. Ask Beano and Kamgen. I usually dance for at least an hour or so by myself. I like to dance.

and he is so cute doing it too!!! :)

I dance too, just not to every song...now that Tarzanman, he will dance to anything...that man just loves to boogie on down! :p

Hey Spud!
Glad you enjoyed the timers. I finally took the time to find out how to make them:)

Wow! School starting for everyone! Here in NC they've been back since the 11th. Doesn't anyone wait till after Labor Day anymore?

One more to add to our crew! DS has saved enough money to bring along DG, and DD doesn't mind having her along.
Her name is Nicole and she wil be celebrating her 21st on this cruise:D I think she is more excited than Jenn or Kevin;)

But of course, no one is as excited as me!!LOL!

Loretta

I can't wait to see Tim on the dance floor! He's a regular John Travolta out there!

Dana - Like Kamy we have always had late seating and we have never missed any activities because of dinner.

This thread really picked up today. Now I know what everyone does at work!!!!

Paul

Hi Renee - My kids went back to school today too! It was nice to have a little peace and quiet around the house today. But, I have to go back to work on Thursday. Ugh!! The summer sure flew by. Before you know it, it'll be time to cruise!

Loretta - I just noticed you're from NC. DH's parents live in Charlotte and his sister and her family are in Raleigh. We were just there for a visit. It's such a pretty part of the country (especially compared to Chicago!)

Hey Spud,
We're about 50 miles south of Raleigh. We're in the news alot these days because of Ft. Bragg.
This is a beautiful state! We are originally from NJ, but got stationed here in '77 (DH is retired USAF) and decided to make it home:)
We are affectionately ( or maybe not so;) ) known as "Damn Yankees", 'cuz we stayed:D

Loretta

Thanks Paul, I knew you guys would know the answer and be able to ease my mind.

Hey Loretta, as for being a "damn yankee", you may not originally be from the south, but you've been a transplant long enough and that's good enough for me.

For all those "Southern" girls going on the cruise, came across a book this past weekend that is a cute read. Now that I've read it, I realize I should have saved it for the cruise. It's called "Grits Guide to Life" GRITS, being Girls Raised In The South.

Hey everyone! WOW...it is getting closer!!! Just need my docs! LOL! :)

Paul- yep, this is what I do at work....and you don't? LOL!

Anyone ready for a sailaway party??

Mornin', everyone!

Dana, thanks for the compliment!:D
Who wrote that book? It sounds really cute!

Loretta

Hi Loretta! Well, things are quiet today.....but of course, I am here! :)

Are you ready for a drink? :)

MMMMMM......I can almost taste the sailaway drinks I plan to have at the sailaway party...yum....standing on deck 10 with all my pals, wind in my hair, and groovin to the music..... :)

And, ahhhhhh, I can almost taste the drinks at dinner....and by the pool......and in the clubs....and....LOL!!!!! (no, I am not a big drinker.....most of them are average size! LOL!!!!!) ;)

This cruise is going to be fun! Sunshine, good friends, good food, good times.....

Cannot wait!

Kamy - I was wondering when you were going to start wanting your docs.

Wasn't Beano just about the last one to get his last year? You know I think all that waiting was just about driving him to drink!!!

PS Kamy - I sent you a PM. Did you get it?

Paul

Hi Loretta...

It is a cute book. Here's a little about it.

The Grits Guide to Life
(Girls Raised in the South)
Deborah Ford - Author
Fannie Flagg - Foreword

They’re referred to as Sweet Potato Queens, Steel Magnolias, Ya-Ya Sisters, and Southern Belles, but at heart they’re just plain Grits—Girls Raised in the South, of course! In The Grits Guide To Life, Deborah Ford reveals the essence of a Southern woman and shows readers how to achieve her style and grace. Because, as we learn, Grits aren’t born, they’re made.

Equal parts sweet sincerity and sly humor, this exuberant guide is chock-full of advice, true-life stories, recipes, southern sayings, and quotable wisdom. Readers will learn vital lessons, including:

· How to make a proper Mint Julep

· How to flirt, southern style

· Sure signs that he’s Mr. Wrong

· How to eat watermelon in a sundress

· The “dos” and “don’ts” of Proper Etiquette

Readers will also learn about some of the essential ingredients to Southern living including, football, sweet tea (which, if it isn’t made right, is “no more sweet tea than a basset hound is a coon dog”), debutante balls, Spanish moss and magnolias. The descriptions will make you yearn for the languid heat of the south, the taste of cold lemonade and the sound of crickets on a warm summer night.

From the Southern way to meet Mr. Right, to a recipe for making Biscuits with Chocolate Gravy, to the Grits who’ve made us proud, this charming book will appeal to everyone, whether born and bred below the Mason-Dixon line, or just a Southern girl at heart

Enjoy!
