LAST CALL for the 10/18/03 Eastern Magic Cruise!

Kamy - Do you think we can get Paul to learn "refillable mug"? That's a tough one.

Spud - I am in the death care industry. The coroners around here can be a nightmare for embalmers because they are sloooooow.
They hold up the bodies for 5,6,7 days, then expect us to make them look peaceful. Not an easy task! And I am pretty sure that our main county pathologist is Edward Scissorhands... sheesh.

Glad you asked?? ;)

'Beano'

(looking at Beano with her mouth open in total disbelief). Wow! I bet you have some really interesting stories to tell. Do you go to school for embalming? I have a lot of questions but don't want to offend anyone. Maybe I need to get Beano really drunk so he will tell me everything I always wanted to know about embalming but was afraid to ask.

Yes, I went to school for embalming. I lived down by the Mouse when I went to school, since one of only 2 mortuary colleges in California is in Cypress. I lived and worked in Anaheim. Only visited the Mouse once though - I was kinda busy!

And Rose, I don't have to be drunk to tell you about embalming... it's just an added bonus.

'Beano'

WOW! Is right!
Like I said before, Beano, a man of many surprises!!

takemeaway,
You probably won't gross me out, I'm a nurse and some of our break time talk gets pretty nasty!LOL! At least to them that don't work in the field:D

Paul, honey, you know we're just teasin';)

Besides, the bartender won't care if you can read....:)

Loretta

Beano won't have any time to talk to all of you. I am hoggin him and keeping him to myself. I don't get to see my buddy very much and I need to spend as much time as possible with him. You all understand I know. If you want some time with Beano, just buy me a drink and I will get out of your way until its gone. Then you can just buy me another one and so on. Thanks for understanding.

You guys are cracking me up with all of your help! And how did all of you know that I love Dr. Suess!!!!! I hope to graduate soon to Little Golden Books!

Paul

Paul- you are such a good sport! Just for that, I might have to give you a couple free reading lessons (Oh, did I not mention that all the previous lessons cost one drink each??? LOL!;) )
Here is your next lesson:
EMBARKATION
Now, sound it out....this is a big one..you can do it!...
M - BAR - KAY - SH- UN

That is important! It is only a little over 7 weeks away and you gotta be ready! LOL! :p

Okay tarzanman, I thought I taught you to share better than that.....I want time to spend with my pal too....but if you buy me spa treatments, I will be away for at least an hour! LOL! :smooth:

This cruise is going to be fabulous! I cannot wait to meet everyone new and see my friends again! :)

Hey Beano- I guess that teaches me to ask nosy questions.

Kamy - I think you forgot an important one for Paul - documents
DOK - U - MENTS :D

It's raining here in Chicago and I'm so ready to cruise!!

I know it's time to cruise when the weather starts to turn cold here in central California. Only 98 here tomorrow, and down to 95 by Monday. Where's my sweater?

Spud - no worries about the nosy questions... I am good at making fun of myself and my job. I have to do this for a living : I'd make a terrible farmer. I plant stuff all the time and nothing ever grows.

'Beano'

Cold???? Okay, well, we are getting in the low 50's at night...highs in the mid 70's.....we should expect snow in a week! LOL!!!! j/k :p

Everyone book their excursions?? Time to start planning what you need to pack and get started...time is a wastin! LOL!!! :smooth:

Hey guys!
I've been following your threads. Looks like a bunch of wild and crazy people are going on this cruise. We'll be on as well. Could someone help with recommendations on shore excursions--disney sponsored as well as on your own. We'll be coming with our children, ages 3 & 5. Thank you:bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Hi 4blinkies! Welcome to the DIS and all the wild and crazy cruisers on the 10/18:D

My kids are way past the 3 & 5 stage (at least in counted birthdays;)), maybe someone else could volunteer what wil be fun for little ones.

Don't start about the weather! after the wettest coolest summer I can remember here in NC, we are finally hitting the 3H's (ya know, HOT, HAZY, HUMID!)
Think Robin Williams as Adrian Cronnauer as somebody else . in Good Morning , Viet Nam:
How hot is it? Real hot! Damn hot! We have a little crotch pot cookin' out there!!LOL!

Kamy, we still haven't planned our excursions!:( I am such a planner!LOL! It just doesn't seem NATURAL to not know what we will do when we get to a port!LOL!

I know we want to do brunch and probably dinner in Palo, and then a massage or two, but I'd like us not to be all split up on port days. Maybe I'll lok into renting a car or jeep and try to do a little touring on our own. A website on the USVI had some pretty neat looking stuff. Plannig for this many is a pain...my husband just usually does what I tell him he's gonna do!LOL!

Loretta

We booked our one excursion, the 12 metre Regatta. Plan to do that then shop a bit. St Thomas is open...probably hit the mountain tramway, shop, sightsee....I gotta plan!

I am such a planner, I plan out ahead of time what I will wear each night and actually write it all down! LOL!!!

Hmmm...your husband does what you tell him to do?? :smooth: Keeper!

Guys, guys,

Help us out please. We need recommendations on shore excursions for kids 3 & 5. My husband is a professional photographer. Any special must sees on shores? He's being dragged to this cruise as a present to me on our 10th anniversary. He's absolutely convinced it'll be 7 days of nothing but "Mickeys"! Thanks

Kamy,
we must be cut from the same cloth, I make lists of what to wear as well!LOL! We are heading to Myrtle beach in two weeks for SOS (Society of Shaggers...not Austin Powers shaginn', baby...shag is a dance we do down here in the south) and I have to think what will be easy to dance in the streets and in and out of the clubs when it's a million degrees and a million people. Plus my DH is, shall we say, fashion-challenged, I have to plan and pack for him as well:D

4b-
Wow! if your husband is a proffesional photographer, he will be in heaven! Just think of the pix he can get of you and the kisds on one of those beautiful beaches! There is a DISer, 4nana, I think who has posted alot about her family's trip on the eastern. They had lots of little ones in their group. I wondre what recommendations she might have made. I'm gonna do a search.

Loretta

Loretta- Great to know I am not the only one!! I love to be organized with my wardrobe! Makes everythign go so much better!!! :) My dh is a wonderful dresser, but I usually pick things out for him! Getting ready for dinner at night is so much smoother when we know what we are wearing!! I recommend it to everyone! Make a list and stick to it! :)

Shagging...cool!!! I saw the movie Shag and thought it was so cool!! :p I am such a dweeb sometimes (no comments needed from Beano or tarzanman! ;) )

everyone have a nice weekend! We are heading camping soon! Talk to you all on Tuesday!

That is the sweetest movie, it is one of my DD and my favorites!

4blinkies, I came up blank so far searching, but I did send a PM to 4nana, maybe she can help out:)

Gotta get ready for work, gotta toil to pay for the cruisin' life I live!

Loretta;)

Hi nicurnc,

Got your pm and will be glad to help. :)

Our family did the eastern in Dec. We wanted to make the most of our time on St. Thomas and pre-arranged a guided tour with
'Godfrey Tours' (godfreytoursvi.com) via email. He chgs appx $20pp or $300 for our family of 16 for the whole day. He gave us a list of suggestions and we picked out what we wanted to do for the day.

He picked our family up at the ship 8:30am in an A/C van. We toured the highlites, then went to Coki Beach area. It is adjoined to 'Coral World' and 'Caribbean Water Sports'. The ladies took the kids to Coral World (adults $18 & kids $9) while the men enjoyed parasailing nx door ($60pp I think). IMO 'Coral World' is not to be missed if you have little ones! It includes an Undersea Observatory w/you can watch the divers feed the fish, plus Marine Gardens, Turtle pool, Iguana Alley, Tortoise Pool, Touch pool, Tropical Nature Trail, Sea Treekin', Dive Shop and much more. Everyone enjoyed!

Afterwards, we all met nx door at the beautiful Coki Beach for swimming, snorkling, and a delicious picnic we'd brought from the ship. Your Coral World ticket allows you to use restroooms, etc.

After a shopping spree in town, we were back to the ship by 4pm. Our excursion was one of the highlites of our trip making very special memories!!

Hope I've been some help. Have a 'magic'al cruise!!
Sandie (4nana)

4 blinkies,

I am coming on the cruise( first cruise ever for me and DH) with a 2 year old and I have been researching for a few months. After my readings on the boards and getting advice from friends, I think we are going to go on our own. We plan to to go to the beach and do shopping on St. Maarten and St. Thomas.

I received a list of excursions the other day. Did you? According to the sheet I got, it recommends to look at www.disneycruise.com and click on "fun Onshore." Whatever looks interesting I would post questions on the main board of the disboards.

Beano, I read the recent Harry Potter, did you? J.K. is a genious!

Stephanie Plum is great......

As you can see I have not been on email and I am catching up with this thread! I can't believe summer has come to an end, but I also know this is the first summer in my entire life that I have wished away to get to October!

Happy holiday weekend to all...... Rena
