Lasik Eye Surgery

I had it done 4 years ago and it changed my life! I paid an obscene amount $300 per eye...

I just saw recently that the same Doc is now charging $1250 per eye.

LOL!!!

DH had it done last year before the birth of our DS. He says it changed his life! We paid around $4000.

I had it done Jan of 2007 in CT. I paid $5000 for both eyes, and had monovision done (one eye corrected for reading, one for distance).

I had mine done almost 9 years ago and I still have 20/20 vision. It was one of the best things I ever did. I recall that it was around $3600 for both eyes. My insurance paid half of that.

My sister in law had it done, had an amazing experience, sings its praises. Has since had it re-done, by a different doctor so paid full fare again, again, loves it.

I had it done, and while I've been 20/20 for quite a long time, I wish I could take it back and have the glasses again. I should never have been OK'd for it. I still have eye dryness 8 years out. I have extreme difficulty going from light to dark and dark to light, which is very annoying. Dim light is VERY tough for me. When at Disney, in a dark ride, if something uses their flash, I am blinded. At DCA on Monsters Inc there's a part of the ride where lights flash on very brightly, and it almost makes me cry. Before they do the laser, they cut a flap in your eye, and when the doctor did my second eye he didn't wait long enough for the numbing drops to work, and I FELT it. Then the drops kicked in, but something weird must have happened, and I have a permanent, big, "bloodshot" vein coming out from one of the ends of the former flap. It's big enough that it can irritate the inside of my eyelid, which is BAD. My cousin has congenital cataracts, and she has to be very careful with her contacts so it doesn't irritate her eyelid, b/c that can create polyps to grow inside her eyelids, and I'm constantly worried that's going to happen to me. And it is UGLY. I used to love my big blue eyes, which is a big reason I had the surgery, so I didn't have to hide behind my glasses (could'nt wear contacts after a nasty bout of conjunctivitis, and when my allergies were bad it was misery with contacts), and now my eye makes me SAD.

There's no way I could have predicted this reaction. My best friend at the time used the same doc after me, and she had a brilliant experience like my SIL.

What's worse is that they are slowly losing their perfect vision, so I'll either have to do it again (nightmare) or wear glasses while still having all the symptoms the Lasik caused. Awful awful.

I had it done 3/26/06 in Albany NY at Lasic Plus. Best thing I ever did. Yes I have dry eyes but nothing like the previous poster. My eyes were irrated so bad by the contacts - used to wear them no problems and we paid about $3,000 for both eyes and that includes the lifetime guarantee if I need to have it done again, it won't cost me a cent. I know 2 others close to me that have had it done there, one is very happy and the other just had it done but didn't follow directions to a t and has an infection in her one eye that they are treating again and her vision is hazy but has 20/20 vision - not sure I understand all of it. But she seems very happy with the outcome and she had bad eyesight. I would do it again in a heartbeat if it means not wearing glasses ever again, cost of glasses, wearing them, etc.

I had it done 5 years ago, paid $5000 for the procedure and am still happy. I had monovision and have a 100% guarantee so if my vision changes I can have it "tweaked" for free. So far I have had no changes. The Dr now charges $500 per eye if changes occur after a period of time but will honor the promise that was made to me.

I did not remember what it was like to see clearly without glasses and had been having terrible headaches. I wore bifocals and worked all day on a computer. By the end of the day my head was exploding. No more. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I had it done 5 years ago and at that time it was $4000 for both eyes. I went to an amazing eye doctor and was willing to pay for the best. I still have perfect vision, no dry eye, no night vision issues, just amazing eye sight. The results were instant and it was the best thing I have ever done for myself. :)

DH had it done about a year and a half ago, in Providence RI, and it cost about $5000 for both eyes...one eye corrected for reading. He's thrilled with it. He had worn glasses for 42 years.

I had it done about 18 months ago. I could see immediately. (I am near sighted).
I did not have mono correction (although it WAS offered to me). I wore bifocals before and had tried mono contacts etc and just couldn't "get" it.
I now have to wear 'cheaters' for reading, other than that, I am THRILLED. No more wearing my glasses on the motorcycle :)

It was about 3000 for both of my eyes.

I could never get used to the bifocal glasses and the mono contraption I tried out was a disaster but I figured in for a dime, in for a dollar so I went for it. The Dr told me he would go in and correct the eye if I got dizzy or sick but that never happened. My sister was afraid to try it so she is wearing the reading glasses. She is still happy that she had the surgery but I feel that I got the better bargain :thumbsup2
