Iam looking at Xtreme lash extentions my sister had them done in Europe look great but were half the price there im looking at 200 -300 dollars then every 2or 3 wk fil 65- 100 dollars is it worth that anyone done it and does it ruin lashes if you stop she looks so good with long lashes and doesnt need mascara i have such thin lashes mascara helps but still not as long as xtreme lashes.

I had this done a month ago. They were great for the first week or two. I loved being able to just get up in the morning and not have to put on mascara. This was something I just wanted to try and had chosen not to continue to have them maintained because that can get quite expensive. So after two weeks as my lashes started to grow out so did the extensions. And since they are glued to your lashes they started to look strange and also some would get twisted around and cause my eyelids to be sore. Some will fall out on their own but some can be glued to several lashes and can be stubborn. Until they all come out it can look pretty funny also unless you go back to the salon to have them taken out professionally. I lost a lot of my lashes in the process but they grew back in pretty quickly. I would suggest only doing this if you plan on keeping them up. They can be very high maintenance. But they were super pretty and I did enjoy them at first lol

I wanted to try them, but didn't want to pay a lot of money so I went to a beauty school and had them put on. I looked like a freak, the ones they used on me looked awful! They were way too long & you could tell they were fake. And, I couldn't get them off. Some came out on one eye, it made it look more obvious.
I went to Sallys Beauty Supply, bought some fake eyelashes & put them on myself to fill in the spots where the original fake ones came out. The ones I bought were shorter & more natural looking.
I actually loved the ones I did myself. They lasted about a month.
I would do it again for just a special occasion, but I will be doing them myself!

Amy I am so sorry you had such a horrible experience! I went to a salon and the lady that did mine was wonderful and they looked so wonderful...for a pretty penny. I had the hardest time getting mine off too though. I even tried olive oil thanks to google lol. Also I was too stubborn to go back to the lady to have her take them off (for a charge I'm sure) which I am sure would have been less painful, so I just wiggled and twisted mine around like a loose tooth until they came off one by one unfortunately with my lashes attached to the glue. live and learn. The funny thing is when I first got them my thinking was "this would be so great for Disney to not have to put on eye makeup and not look tired in the vacation pictures." They sure were pretty though...

Have you tried Latisse? or Rapid Lash? They do work..Latisse is better but you can only get from a dr. or a med spa and more expensive. Rapid Lash is sold in CVS for about $40. I started with Latisse then moved to Rapid Lash, my lashes have definitely gotten fuller and longer. I also get them permed and tinted about every 3 months..about $100..and love the result.

Whenever I read about people getting new lashes all I think about is my Aunt Bernice putting her lashes on every morning. I wonder what happened to those temporary daily eyelashes?

I did them once and they came off almost immediately for me. I also don't really baby my face so that could be the reason why. My stylist did them for me so I think they were about $40.

I would not recommend Latisse. One of the side effects is that it can change your eye color permanently. I have a family member who uses Lumigan drops to treat glaucoma (same drug) in one eye, and it is now a different color than the untreated eye.

I use Latisse and my lashes are GORGEOUS. Without Latisse, my normal lashes were just okay - not very long, light brown in color , but with mascara, looked pretty good. With the Latisse, they got so long and lush that they almost hit the lenses on my sunglasses - and they look so much more natural than the extensions. The lashes did not get darker, so I still use mascara when I want them to 'pop', but even without, they still look very pretty. I pay less than $100 per bottle, which is supposed to last 4 weeks, but I have learned to stretch it to 3 to 4 months. I use it very sparingly, and have never had any problems, nor have my eyes or eyelids changed any colors.

My sister had extensions placed (in Florida, where she lives) - I think they were Minkys. They were gorgeous, but then her regular lash Technician left to go elsewhere, and the one who took over was awful, so my sister had to have the lasehes removed. I recommended the Latisse (as the extensions ruined her natural lashes), and she now uses the Latisse also. Her lashes are also gorgeous, an she has had no problems with it.

Another thing to consider is whether you are a person who would pick at something like false lashes. They are heavy at first and you can see that something is there... I've had them a few times and I can't go more than a couple days before I need to get them off. You can go to any beauty supply and get remover. I used to put them on for people and most women didn't mind them but anybody who wasn't a daily makeup user usually couldn't stand them. The first time I actually picked them off that evening sitting at home because I didn't want to go out for remover and they were bothering me too much.

Because of the weight they can make a few of your natural lashes fall out but nothing permanent. What also happens is that at the end of a few weeks when they fall off you will shed the false ones and all of the natural ones you would have shed in 3 weeks within a few days, making it seem like you are loosing all of your lashes at once- it's important to realize you probably aren't.

It's funny, I always feel bad when people pay for them because you can seriously invest $5 and do it yourself.

Oh yes..sorry I forgot to mentioned this known side effect. I have dark brown eyes so it made no difference to me.

Brown eyes are affected. My relative used to have 2 dark brown eyes; now has one dark brown eye and one very light brown eye. It is quite noticeable.

I do lashes for a living and I cannot tell you how many people come in so I can "fix" their lashes. If they are applied correctly they should not pull, twist, poke, hurt you one bit & also should not damage your natural lashes over time. You should not be able to feel them on at all. In rare cases, people have an allergic reaction/sensitivity issue due to the adhesive. Definitely do your homework. Yelp is a good place to read reviews/see pictures of stylist's work before you decide. I charge $180+ for a full set & $75+ for refills (needed every 3 weeks). They can last indefinitely with upkeep. Also, I'd be wary of anyone who charges less than $100.
