Laser hair removal?

Sorry to post this, but I have a question for anyone that's gotten this done. I have been getting tx for the last 2.5 yrs and I am not getting the results I think I should, and I am so TIRED of trying to schedule the appts after all this time. I go to ALC, which I think is a nationwide chain. I get my chin, neck, and upper lip done. I still have stray hairs on my chin and neck, which I have been getting done the longest. I think I signed up for the upper lip almost 2 yrs ago and I would say only about 1/3 of the hair is not coming back. Am I the only one that doesn't have the job "done" within 6-8 visits? When I signed up for this I didn't think I'd still have to worry about it for so long. I started with visits every 7 wks and now they have me coming every 4 (for the last 9 months or so). I am about ready to tell them to forget it, I don't feel like they will be able to give me the results I anticipated and I'm sick of going there. I don't want to have to "maintain" my face, which is why I started this process in the first place, but it looks like it will always be an issue for me (to some degree). I don't know if I have some weird hormone problem (I am not a hairy monster in general!), but the facial hair thing is bumming me out. I don't want to be an old lady who can't see her chin to pluck the whiskers (I'm only 38). Can anyone relate or tell me how long it took them to get results? I have 5 more months of coverage with the initial fee I paid (two years with an extra for their guarantee). I am not an ethnicity that has hair issues, either, I'm Irish, German, and Welsh!

The chains are a waste of money. You should go see a cosmetic surgeon. They can turn up settings to reach the maximum potential. Good luck...how frustrating, and EXPENSIVE!

I am sorry you are dealing with this! I had LHR a few years ago on my bikini area. It worked so well, I had my underarms done, too. I went to Ideal Image which is a chain and it all worked out perfectly. I have fair skin and dark hair (well, I am a blonde thanks to highlights...but in other places, definitely a brunette, LOL) which is supposed to be the best combination. Also, the hair was VERY coarse (that's why I wanted it done, even if I shaved I would have those little black dots...like a shadow.)

Do you know other people who have gone to this place? Were they happy? I know some hair is just stubborn...if it is fine it may not all be able to be removed. I inquired about my upper lip, but they warned me I probably wouldn't see the great results like I did on my bikini area and underarms.

I went very 10 weeks, for 8 sessions. I started seeing great results after 3 or 4 sessions.

Hope you get some answers. I have stopped recommending LHR like I used to...i always sang it's praises but too many people I know have had negative results or no results, so I just share MY experience, but I don't push it anymore.

I went to a dermotologist's office to have it done by a licensed clinician. Worked great on my upper lip, but it didn't work on my chin. I finally gave up.

I have gone to 2 different places, both physician offices-not chains. The difference in equipment between the 2 offices is pretty remarkable. There are different kinds of lasers. That said, even at my least good place I had far better results than you are describing. It sounds like their goal is to keep you coming in, not get you out and happy. Can you go for a consultation someplace else?

I don't think they want me coming back in, I am pre-paid ($1300 total for all areas), so they aren't getting anymore money out of me. I am definately not going to go back after my 2 yr gaurantee and pay $50 per session after that. Yesterday I had a session and the tech told me my best bet was electrolysis or waxing for the residual hairs I still have. Nice! I guess I'll be waxing, bleaching, or tweezing forever.

Thats a real dissapointment, I clicked on this by accident. I paid for 5 treatment for my face, lip is great, chin is ok, have a nother two to go though, I have just started a course on my bikini line and even after the first tx it is a lot lot better.

Sorry yours hasnt worked, I am concerned my chin is going to have some left, but I will accept it, I am not paying to go indefinatly forever.
